NARRATIVE REPORT
FOR JOURANLISM 2021
I. Program Title: JOURNALISM PROGRAM
ONLINE DIVISION JOURNALYMPICS 2021
I. Rationale:
San Pedro Integrated School is a consistent qualifier for Regional
Schools Press Conference (RSPC) for the 6 consecutive years. Due to
COVID_ 19 Pandemic, press conference was changed into Online
Journalympics. Thus, it is necessary for the journalists to equip themselves
on the different applications to be used on the contest.
In addition, activity such as journalism let the students be aware of
the social issues and concern and will lead them to be an eye opener and an
ear to what is really happening in the society.
Campus Journalism is a manifestation of transparency thus, a
Journalism Program.
II. Objectives:
1. build awareness of campus journalists, their rights and
responsibilities as young leaders in light of the pandemic;
2. enrich students' journalistic learning experiences by providing
them venues to hone their potentials as young writers; and
3. enhance journalistic competencies through healthy and friendly
competitions.

III. Description of the Activity:
Due to the COVID- 19 pandemic, the regular Division Schools Press
Conference. (DSPC) was changed into the Online Division Journalympics.
Still, it is based from RA 7079 also known as Campus Journalism Act of
199 I, and in compliance with Regional Memorandum No. !11, s. 2O2l
entitled 'Online Regional Joumalympics."
The Pinnacle actually have12 campus journalists(CJs) but due to the
limit of gadgets such as android phones, laptops and internet connection,
only five CJs were able to participate on the Online Division Journalympics.
Online sessions for coaching were organized to ensure spot for the Division
Journalympics and to be qualified for the Regional Journalympics. The
sessions were done for five consecutive nights since CJs were busy during
the day time on their modules.
They all got spot on the Division Journalympics and one out of five
was qualified for the Regional Journalympics since only top 2 will be
qualified for the regional.
IV. Accomplishment
5 out 5 CJs grabbed spot on the Division Journalympics
One was qualified for the Regional Journalympics
School Paper was awarded as one of the Best School Papers on the Secondary-
