ACCOMPLISHMENT REPORT ON
GULAYAN SA PAARALAN

I. Introduction

Pinaglabanan National High School conducted a program about Gulayan sa

Paaralan. This program, as stated in DepEd Memo No. 139. Series 2023, aims to help

learners improve their capability in school gardening, to promote proper nutrition and

mitigate hunger among learners, to serve as main source of food and sustain

supplementary feeding and educate. Eating right amount of vegetables will help develop

the body and mind of students.

With this program, parents and students were oriented about the said activity thru

the initiative of our School Head Mr. Joel O. Artillaga, and Gulayan sa Paaralan

Coordinator Ms. Angela F. Antinero. The goal of this project was to educate parents and

students about the importance of agriculture, as it serves as our life support and as well

the benefits of gardening with the cooperation of the teachers, parents, students and

community this project will be successful.

It all started by encouraging different grade levels to select and prepare an area or

space for planting of fruits and vegetables. Also, Teachers together with their active
parents cleaned their respective area and cultivated the soil in preparation for planting

seedlings that they identified as vegetables, fruit bearing trees, and medicinal plant which

were based on considerable and available factors like the soil and weather conditions.

They also used recycled materials like plastic bottles as a container garden. Furthermore,

parents and students not only learned how to reproduce vegetables but were also

encouraged to eat green and leafy vegetables as well. Hence, vegetable production

through agriculture must be given emphasis.

The Gulayan sa Paaralan program is not only a program of coordinator but a

program of the entire school and stakeholders. We should work together for the success

of our program and for the benefits of school as well.
