Dear Participants,
Sport is a physical activity that has many benefits for human life,
including health, education, recreation, and achievement. Despite
these benefits, some people who participate in sports activities
can get injured due to accidents. In the United States, the
prevalence of sports injuries among those under the age of 15
years in 2021 is reported to be 3.5 million cases per year, and two-
thirds of these sports injury cases require treatment in emergency
departments.
Sports injuries are injuries that occur to the body during physical
exercise or certain physical activities. These injuries can be in the
form of sudden damage, such as sprains, strains, lacerations, and
fractures in musculoskeletal system tissues, or they can result
from overuse syndrome, which is caused by long-term training
sessions.
The causes of injuries in sports activities can be internal, such as
improper training methods, lack of stretching, lack of warm-up
and cool-down, or external, such as improper equipment
installation, equipment conditions that are not suitable for use,
training equipment that is not suitable, and an unsafe training
environment.
Indonesia has been entering the new era of Digital Industry 4.0
which marked by the increasing connectivity, interaction, as well
as more convergent people, machines and other resources as the
result of information and communication technology
advancement. Where our role is to provide education that is easily
accessible to the patients.
By attending the "Comprehensive Sport Rehabilitation in Physical
Medicine and Rehabilitation Perspective" Regional Scientific
Meeting, we hope that participants will be able to help post-sport
injury patients recover and perform their functional activities.
