Hackers, Good or Evil ?? Since the introduction of personal computers in the 1970s, the art of
computer hacking has evolved in line with the changing role of computers in society. Computers have
taken over our lives. People cannot function without them; Our electricity is controlled by computers,
governments cannot function without computers, and there are many others. Hackers are people who
illegally access, and sometimes interfere with, information in a computer system. Due to recent media
coverage and corporate interest, hacker activities are now looked down upon by society as criminals.
While there is a growing trend of hacking, very little research has been done on the world of hacking and
its culture. The image of a computer hacker has evolved from a harmless nerd into a vicious techno
villain. In fact, most hackers don’t come out to destroy the world. Hackers in today’s society are not
bored teenagers.
Hackers are not allowed to roam like everyone else in the world. Hackers are not allowed to help fix
possible security vulnerabilities. The term hacker can have many meanings. The most easily seen by the
public is software pirating people, and getting into corporate networks and corrupting information. This
is a common misconception about hackers. Back then, hacking was just a quick and dirty way to do
things. Actually, hackers are highly educated people. In "Hackers increase fear of industrial espionage,"
Mark Gembicki reports "typical hackers are 14 to 16 years old, silent introverts. However, this is no
longer the case. Hackers are around 30-33 years old, professionals" (Drumheller). The vast majority of
hackers today are probably fourteen to sixteen years old from now. Except now they generate enough
money to buy expensive computer equipment. They are highly educated and interested in technology.
The majority of hackers today are thirty years old and highly educated, they are not all capable of
destroying computer systems and disrupting national security. While hacking is a growing trend in our
society, the matter is not accepted in the United States or other countries in this regard. Hacking is an
international phenomenon that encompasses levels of race, gender, ethnic background, gender, and
education. Hackers have always been considered different and have never been accepted by society.
Hackers at the time were basically just computer experts. Hackers nowadays mean the same thing as
hackers, people who hijack software, and malicious hackers. The media, of course, never prints the good
things hackers do. A large number of hackers provide services to companies, by informing companies of
security holes before competitors take advantage of them.
Hackers desperately need knowledge, but not in traditional subjects. Technology, and whatever new
interests hackers. In fact, most security experts start out but learn and hack. The bad view of hackers is
not entirely wrong. There are hackers out there who will do their best to damage the system as they
can, national security documents that bad hackers are dangerous, they may get access to confidential
information. Patricia Irving, president of the small business that created biological and chemical defense
technology, said “Our technology is used for national security type purposes, and the U.S. government
has concerns about what might happen’ in countries that may be unfriendly to the U.S. or with groups
terrorists inside and outside the country. ”Both governments and companies have to pay large sums of
money to try and make their websites safe and impossible for hackers to hack. However, most hackers
will not damage governments or businesses.
As many know, recently a group of Malaysian hackers such as Dragon Force Malaysia, AnonGhost,
RilexCrew and many more joined forces to shut down the Israeli Zionist database system. After
announcing their success in hacking several Israeli websites, Dragon Force Malaysia shared that success
once again when they hacked more than 5000 CCTVs in Israel. It is understood the CCTV that has been
accessed includes government buildings as well as Israeli secret buildings. At the time, Dragon Force
Malaysia also attached some CCTV footage of Israeli immigrants. What is surprising, however, is that
they look relaxed like what happened when they accused Hamas and Palestine of firing on their country
with relentless bombing. Hackers are no longer the ‘Don’t judge books by their divers’ crime.
