Articulating the dreams and hopes and describing what we are trying to build and serves
as a touchstone for future actions.
VISION STATEMENT
Mater Dei College is a community of dedicated educators and community- oriented students who
believe in the search for truth that leads to WISDOM; unselfish living through SERVICE as an
expression of CHARITY and the pursuit of PRAYER LIFE through living the Gospel, as
exemplified by Mary, the Mother of God in whose honor the college identifies herself.

MISSION STATEMENT
Mater Dei College commits herself to provide a holistic Catholic education to deserving youth with
a preferential option for the economically disadvantaged of northern Bohol to enable them to
become responsible citizens and servant leaders in nation building.
GOAL STATEMENT
Mater Dei College strives to produce graduates who are God-loving, law-abiding, environment-
friendly, and morally principled professionals who by their able response to the call of duty,
actively participate in total human formation and in the positive transformation of the communities.
The founders of Mater Dei College envisioned of providing a holistic Christian education
to the poor rural youths. With this vision in mind, they came up with a rallying mission to be able
to share what they have, human and material resources, to provide the underprivileged the
education they aspire. Hence, the founders advocated the three corporate values for these goals,
SAPIENTIA : WISDOM
CARITAS : CHARITY THROUGH SERVCE
ORATIO : PRAYER-LIFE THROUGH LIVING THE GOSPEL.
Christian philosophy teaches us that the highest faculties of man are his intellect and will.
These faculties are to b exemplified b the graduates. They are to be persons steeped in
WISDOM, searching for the truth through difficult scholarly studies. They are to be imbued to in
CHARITY as well, borne of unselfish living by the giving of them through service. The students
cannot acquire wisdom and charity, however, if they do not practice them in life. This is expressed
in the corporate vale which is the pursuit of a PRAYER-LIFE through living the Gospel.
Since 1994, these three corporate values, actualized as institutional goal through the
years, have given Mater Dei College not only the impetus to survive but also the meaning and
inspiration to pursue a quality existence, worthy of the best efforts of the Board of Incorporators,
administration, faculty, and students.
With the collaborative efforts of MDC Department Heads and faculty, the following MDC
Graduates’ Attributes were formulated. Each graduate attribute has corresponding indicators and
anchored on the corporate values of MDC.
