Civil Society Module

Civil society is composed of a variety of elements that allow citizens from all spheres and interests to participate in public life and debate the rule of law. It includes people who participate in elections, activists who fight for human rights, and organizations that represent public opinions. Civil society is an essential ingredient for a stable and progressive society. It plays an important role in the functioning of democracy through facilitating dialogue between governmental and non-governmental groups. At the grassroots level, cultural programs aim to enrich the lives of rural communities through seminars and other initiatives involving local officials and community development workers.

characteristic in common. Civil Society- can be understood as the "third sector" of society,
distinct from government and business, and including the family and the private sphere

life in which citizens from all spheres and interest participate in government and ultimately,
debate the rule of law.
