STATEMENT OF PURPOSE (SOP)
BPP UNIVERSITY – LONDON CAMPUS - M.SC PROJECT MANAGEMENT
My name is Qasid Ahmed and I have done my Graduation i.e Master of commerce (16-year
education) from Sargodha University main campus Sargodha, Pakistan that provides best
faculties and facilities in finance. M.com degree in finance is a two-year course. Now I wish to
pursue my higher studies in project management from BPP University (London campus)
commencing May 2020.
PERSONAL BACKGROUD:
I would like to introduce myself as an active, diligent, optimistic and self-made. As a student I
was very good in business studies. With each passing year, I realized that my career would be
around the field that dealt with business management. My interest was creating new dimensions
and spreading my knowledge.
I belong from an educated family residing in Islamabad, Pakistan. I have always been very
curious and eager to learn new things. My parents have always acknowledged the power and
potential of quality education and have always encouraged all their children to be seekers of
knowledge throughout their lives. It was due to the efforts of my parents that I was always
focused and determined towards my studies.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND:
I have completed my Secondary School (Matric) with Science from the well-known school,
Nusrat Jahan Academy Rabwah, Chenab Nagar Pakistan with A Grade in 2006. My Intermediate
(F.S.C) Pre-Engineering) cleared under Nusrat Jahan Inter Collage, Chenab Nagar Pakistan in
2008. After finishing college, the turning point in my life in the learning aspect was when I
joined Punjab Collage of Commerce Sargodha Campus, Sargodha Pakistan to pursue Bachelor of
Commerce (14 years) in 2010, then I complete my master’s degree M.com (16 years) with a
CGPA of 2.7 from Sargodha University, Sargodha Pakistan in 2012.
WORK EXPERIENCES:
In 2012, after finishing my graduation I joined Pakland builders Islamabad as an accounts
officer. In Pak Land Builder my main jobs were handling Petty Cash, bank Reconciliation,
Maintaining Working Capital and Book Keeping.
My experiences in working for various projects developed my interest in accounting and finance.
Therefore, to improve my knowledge farther in this field, in 2014, I started working for Avari
Xpress (Avari Hotel Pvt Ltd.), Pakistan as an accountant till 2016. In 2016 I joined Gandhara
city as an accountant and worked there for one year. In 2018 I found job in well reputative
international bank standard chartered bank as a clearing officer.
In short, I work in various diversify industries includes hospitality, real estate and banking which
help me to enhance my practical knowledge of accounts and finance.
I am a Quality-oriented & hard-working professional who has been consistently praised as hard
working by my co-workers and management. Currently I am working with Standard Chartered
bank as a Clearing Officer. Over the course of my 7 years of experience career, I’ve developed a
skill set directly relevant to the financial management, including costing & Taxation. Overall, I
have consistently demonstrated multitasking and teamwork abilities in every aspect of my
Accountant role at my previous companies which helps me to improve my learning skills.
WHY ARE YOU LOOKING TO STUDY ANOTHER MASTER LEVEL
QUALIFICATION WHEN YOU HAVE ALREADY COMPLETED A MASTER OF
COMMERCE?
My previous degree Master of commerce is my 16 years education degree. Most of companies or
universities do not consider this degree as an 18-year education / master’s degree. So, for the
career growth I want to do my master’s degree after my 16 years graduation degree i.e. M.com.
And master’s degree also has its own importance in career growth and educational prospective.
When I will complete my degree, I find myself for eligible for most higher rank managerial job
in my country.
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE BPP UNIVERSITY? WHY LONDON CAMPUS?
London, the vibrant capital of England, is also one of the world's most diverse and multicultural
cities. Located along the River Thames, students can expect to experience a unique contrast
between an old Roman settlement and a modern leading city.
My most friends, teachers and colleagues graduate from different universities situated in London.
Some of my friends are studying in London. I prefer London for my further studies because this
city is an international hub for students and it is an international symbol for higher studies. I am
inspired with my most friend’s excellent experience of studying in London.
I want to do my international masters from well recognized university. I found BPP University
with high raking universities and suitable for my degree. I feel very glad that university campus
in London is progressing well and number of students are increasing with passage of time. While
short listing institutions for my studies I have encountered several other options like UWS,
Coventry University, London South Bank University, but I finally decided to go with the BPP
University because First of all the BPP course structure suited my future educational needs very
well. Secondly, its location is very attractive. So, I decide to take admission in London campus.
BPP has been on my list of dream institutions since long. I have always been fascinated by the
fact that one day I will pursue my MSC Program at BPP, to enhance my knowledge of business
management and have the honor of studying from top-notch faculty at such a prestigious
institute. BPP ranks amongst the highly trusted institutes for Tier 4 students. At the same time, I
am utterly impressed by the teaching methodology of instructors at BPP as well as the
challenging nature of coursework offered which essentially amplify the analytics skills of the
students. A few of my friends who have already had the privilege of studying at BPP have also
encouraged me to pursue my MSC from BPP, being one of the best 100 research institutes in the
UK.
Interestingly, BPP campus also appears easy to access location wise, and the ambiance looks
friendly and lively. London campus has been on my priority list also because it serves as a center
to nearly 500 professional business organizations, located in the heart of UK, serving as a hub to
the international business community. This then serves a host of opportunities, not only for
research but also for establishing professional ties. Moreover, the BPP London campus also
houses a diverse range of international students, where students come from all parts of the world,
bringing along a rich culture. The overall environment at BPP London is rich and full of
exposure, and one gets to learn a great deal under such circumstances. also, being at the heart of
London, the BPP London campus is one of the most vibrant places to be and to learn, while also
being surrounded by a huge leisure attractions and artistic places to explore.
Also, BPP campus is accredited for a well-stocked library with extensive resources available that
support learning and research. At the same time, this campus of BPP has strong employability
percentage, where more than 83% of the BPP students get employed within six months of
graduating. The availability of careers and employability advice for students further facilitates
the job placement process, and career counselling in terms of CV preparation and interview
handling techniques eventually benefit the students in the long run.
I found BPP more convenient and accessible, not only location wise but also in terms of the
strong and well-experienced faculty, the design of course structures, and opportunity for
professional growth and excellence. Moreover, I had heard and read too many positive reviews
about BPP which further strengthened my preference for this university. Experiences of friends
already studying here also added to my decision to choose BPP. Interestingly, my preliminary
research over the internet and my consultant’s evaluation for BPP also fell nicely in place in
terms of excellence and affordability of BPP. BPP ranks amongst the top 10% of universities
worldwide, which was a major attraction for me.

LONDON?
It is a given fact that without a professional degree from a renowned institute, one cannot
progress along the career ladder. No strong career opportunities come one’s way until one
possesses a reputable degree of professional excellence, especially in today’s highly competitive
world. Big organizations only seek individuals with professional degrees. Hence, my decision to
pursue MSC.
My professional qualification and career zeal aspire me to lead and work in a fast-paced business
environment where all team members work in synergy to complement each other. I have an
innate desire to achieve higher level of professionalism through consistency and perseverance to
achieve long term goals. In this pursuit I have chosen to complete MSC management with
Project management, to further strengthen my entrepreneurial core, broaden my vision, and excel
in my chosen profession.
As per my previous work experience, I have learnt a great deal in terms of teamworking,
analytical appraisals, time management, and creative thinking out of the box. I also acquired
strong analytical skills and learnt the significance of quality of leadership for the success for any
business enterprise. I now want to enhance my knowledge of research methodology to lead and
effective and efficient research, which can then be put to good use for further excelling in my
professional career.
I currently have extensive high knowledge of financial management and diversify industries
experience which I want to multiply manifold for professional excellence. With exceptional
grasp of business case and financial management expertise, I now want to build my research
skills, to match my strong interpersonal skills, in order to establish a well-rounded, proficient and
well-experienced personality for myself. And I am confident that the MSC Program at BPP will
add to my worth.

DECIDED TO INCUR EXTRA COSTS TRAVELING TO THE UK TO LIVE AND
STUDY? WHY HAVE YOU CHOSEN THE UK, WHAT ARE THE BENEFITS TO YOU
FOR COMING TO THE UK RATHER THAN STAY IN YOUR HOME COUNTRY?
There are few good opportunities present in Pakistan. However, there are only a few renowned
institutes that offer quality MSC in my home country and are unfortunately not strong enough
to match the quality of education provided in the UK. While MSC in the UK are much more
practical and based on industry-based knowledge, they also usually offer collaboration with
multinational companies so one can benefit from foreign qualified experts. I believe this
opportunity is currently lacking in my homeland.
Studying in UK will give me a competitive edge. One of the great advantages of gaining UK
qualification is the opportunity it will provide me when it comes time to find suitable
employment. No matter where I want to start my career, UK qualification will be recognized, as
a mark of a quality education. It will provide with an excellent platform for my career goals.
These factors and my sound financial position encouraged me to look at the option of studying
abroad. The reasons range from global recognition, compatible living and tuition cost to
development of intellectual abilities required for success. Employers all over the world worth to
hire an UK qualified graduate.
Uniqueness is all that defines us, therefore, attain the quality education from the reputed
university of UK would make me standout after the completion of my post-grad as I would be
returning back to my homeland. Therefore, the UK has been my only priority for my post grad
to excel my expertise in my field.
IF YOU HAVE HAD A LONG BREAK IN STUDIES, WHY ARE YOU RETURNING
NOW?
From June 2012 to Jan 2020 is my all break in studies which is for the sake of my experience
toward professional life. I opine that at least five year must require for experience after
graduation to polish your learning and prepare yourself to next move of life. Meanwhile by
working in professional environment with different companies and industries I have develop my
practical learning skill. Because of continuous work experience I have advantage over other
student by understanding the course in practical way. I also beware of practical problems either
financial or behavioral which helps me to understand the problem in detail and find the solution
by quality and effective research. I like to do research in my field and become valve added asset
for university.
WHAT IS YOUR POST STUDY PLAN AFTER COMPLETING YOUR STUDIES?
After completion of my studies I would return to my homeland and continue my professional
career. I believe having an International degree would give me a benefit in the market of
Pakistan at managerial level job. As soon as my post-graduate degree is completed from BPP
University.
This shows the worth of my proposed course and encourages me to get this qualification from
BPP University, which has a well- reputed education system. Furthermore, this course will
enhance my financial, research and managerial skills as well.
I am sure that BPP University will surely provide me a chance to achieve my set goal and a
degree from well reputed University will open a diverse collection of new opportunities for my
future. MSC will broaden my management knowledge and expand my professional network.
