Iloilo City's Housing Initiatives

The document provides information on housing programs implemented in Iloilo City, Philippines for families affected by Typhoon Frank in 2008. It outlines 3 major housing projects: Gawad-Kalinga which constructed 500 homes from 2008-2010; DSWD Core Shelter Project which built another 500 homes from 2008-2009; and a 2009 Italian Government project. The projects faced issues like delays, restrictive policies, structural violations, and challenges of monitoring a diverse population in close quarters. Solutions included hiring laborers to speed construction, and creating a community association to coordinate with local government.
