LEARNING
EPISODE
14
This learning episode is the culmina-
tion of my practicum experience. This
allows me to showcase all the things I
learned from my teacher education
institution, cooperating school, cooper-
ating teacher and practicum adviser. This
will also give me the opportunity to apply
the theories I learned into practice.
At the end of this activity, I will be able to:
Write my demonstration lesson plan.
Prepare my instructional materials.
Demonstrate the lesson I prepared in my
assigned class.

1. What went well in my lesson? Why?
I think everything went well in my lesson because I was able
to explain my lesson well, I am well-prepared before my lesson
and the results of the assessment was very good.
2. What did not go well? Why?
I think nothing did not go well in my lesson because I am
well-prepared before my lesson especially with the help and
guidance of my cooperating teacher.
3. What did my students learn?
My students learned about the dangers of cigarette
smoking especially the health effects of smoking, the chemical
content of cigarette that makes it dangerous, how cigarettes are
made especially the main ingredient in making them which is the
tobacco and the different laws in the Philippines that are aimed to
address the dangers of this cigarette smoking.
4. What did I learn about planning?
I learned the importance of planning during my first
demonstration. If you are well-prepared before doing whatever it
is that you intend to do, there is nothing to be afraid of or you will
not fell nervous because you know what you have to do.
5. What did I learn about teaching?
I learned that teaching is really a very rewarding profession.
This doesn't mean financially rewarding instead emotionally and
mentally because in teaching you learn so many things and it en-
riches your mind and knowledge. At the same time, when you
know that students learned from you, the happiness and fulfill-
ment cannot be explained.
6. What improvements will I make to be more effective
in my class?
I think I can prepare better questions so that my students
can really express themselves and participate and prepare more
activities in the next lesson.

A. After the demonstration lesson, I felt very
happy because everything went well in my first
demonstration lesson. I was able to explain the topic
very well and my students also performed
remarkably during our discussion. They are able to
participate, ask question and answer my queries
every time I ask them about their ideas. They also
performed nicely on the assessment activity that we
had after our discussion.
B. After my demonstration, I realized that, teaching
is very enjoying. Yes, there are a lot of preparations
and a lot of things to do but in the end it was very fun
and I enjoyed it very much.
C. These are the things that I learned from my
learners: students always have ideas and must be
given a chance to express themselves; if you treat your
students well, you will have a better response from
your students during your discussion.
Outstanding
I rated myself outstanding because I believe I have
done my very best to deliver my lesson and I have prepared
everything that I have to prepare in order for this first
demonstration to be a success. In addition, the results of the
test and the remarkable performance of my students during
my demonstration for me also support my outstanding
performance.
