A. Wind Load Analysis

Wind Load Analysis of Female and Male Dormitory (based on NSCP 2015)

Using Table 207E.4-1, NSCP 2015, Determining MWFRS Wind Loads for Enclosed

Building

Occupancy Category:

Category IV- Standard Occupancy Structures (Table 103-1, NSCP 2015)

Basic Wind Speed:

Location: Laguna, V = 250 kilometers per hour (Figure 207A.5-1A, NSCP 2015)

Exposure Category:

Exposure B, for buildings with a mean roof height of less than or equal to 9m where

the ground surface roughness, as defined by Surface Roughness B, prevails in the

upwind direction for a distance greater than 450 m. (Section 207A.7.3, NSCP 2015)

Mean roof height = 7.375 m

Topographic Factor:

Kzt = 1.0, site conditions and locations do not meet all the conditions specified in the

Wind Speed-Up over Hills, Ridges and Escarpments (Section 207A.8.2, NSCP 2015)
Enclosure Classification:

Building Enclosed (Section 207A.10, NSCP 2015)

Gust Effect Factor:

G = 0.85, permitted value of gust effect factor for a rigid building or other structure

(Section 207A.9.1, NSCP 2015)

Internal Pressure Coefficient:

GCpi = ±0.18, for enclosed buildings (Table 207A.11-1, NSCP 2015)

Velocity Pressure Exposure Coefficient:
