20.1 Hardware Setup
This section covers a tutorial that takes the student through the various steps described in the previous
sections. It is devided into sections in accordance with the previous chapters of this manual.

20.1.1 Chapter Objectives
After completing this section, the student will be able to:
- set-up of the hardware,
- checking the hardware settings,
- using a Vnet tool.

20.2 Connecting SCS stations with VNET to eachother
1. Connect 4 HIS/SENG + 4 SCS station to eachother using the figure below.

2. Positions
o Slot 1 digital input card
o Slot 2 left empty
o Slot 3 redundant digital output card
o Slot 5 redundant analog input card
3. Set the domain and station numbers for your SCS station. Ask the course leader which station
belongs to your group.
4. After powering up the SCS you should check the Domain and Station number. Use the

dipswitches on the front side of the controller. The LEDs on the top of the controller what the
setting will be. The LEDs will indicate in binary which switches have been set.

5. Check with the CS3000 tool if all Vnet connections are available. Ask the course leader for
details about this tool.
