The Giriraj Enterprises Solar Power plant, located on approximately 160 acres of land in Jodhpur, Rajasthan,
demonstrates viability of REC mechanism for solar projects in India. The 36.3MWp power plant, powered by over
148,000 polycrystalline modules, generates electricity with zero emissions during operation, powers 60,000 average
Indian homes and displaces over 48,000 tons of CO2 equivalent emissions per year. Construction of the plant created
400 jobs at peak and was built by Sterling & Wilson. Power from the project is being supplied to local DISCOM at
India's Largest APPC while the RECs generated per year are traded with obligated entities under RPO across India.
Solar PV Power Plant Giriraj Enterprises, owned by the US$132Mn Retail, Power and Real Estate Major – Malpani Group, holds 100% equity
under REC Mechanism in the project.
