RESOLUTION NO. 04-19


Series of 2019

“A RESOLUTION ADOPTING THE MUNICIPAL ORDINANCE NO. 2008 – 01 REQUIRING


ALL DOG OWNERS IN THE MUNICIPALITY OF ODIONGAN, ROMBLON TO SUBMIT THEIR DOGS
FOR ANTI-RABIES VACCINATION AT THE MUNICIPAL AGRICULTURISTS’ OFFICE, THIS
MUNICIPALITY AND PROVINCE.”

WHEREAS, the existing ordinance to be amended has been in effect for nine (9)
long years, in spite of which cases of stray dogs and dog bites remain unabated;

WHEREAS, the said existing ordinance to be amended needs to ensure the


enforcement of section 6 of Republic Act No. 8485 or “The Animal Welfare Act of 1998”

WHEREAS, it also needs to be amended so as to be in consonance with Anti-


Rabies Act of 2007 recently passed by Congress and signed into law by Her Excellency
President;

WHEREAS, as stated in Section 6 of this ordinance, the Barangay also created a


Rabies Control Coordinating Committee and shall possess the main authority of
implementing this rabies control ordinance and other rabies control related activities in
the Barangay level.

The committee shall be composed of the following:

GASPAR D. FALLARIA SR.: Chairman


JOSEFINE R. AGUSTIN: Vice Chairman
Committee on Health
NOVIE JOY F. MATALUBOS: Member/Rural Health Mid-wife
JOUE F. SERVANEZ: Member/Chief Tanod
TRANQUILINO T. MANUEL: Member/PTCA President

WHEREFORE, PREMISES CONSIDERED, the Sangguniang Barangay on motion of


Hon. Josefine R. Agustin, duly seconded by Hon. Bencenito P. Rubion Jr., has;
RESOLVED, AS IT IS HEREBY RESOLVED to adopt the Municipal Ordinance No. 2008-
01 requiring all dog owners in this Barangay, Municipality of Odiongan to submit their
dogs for Anti-Rabies Vaccination at the Municipal Agriculturist’s Office, this Municipality
and Province.

ADOPTED this 20th day of May 2019 during 10th regular session of the Sangguniang
Barangay of Rizal, Municipality of Odiongan, Province of Romblon.
