Millennium Development Goals in the Philippines

Goal 1. Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger

Target 1. Halve, between 1990 and 2015, the proportion of people


whose income is less than one dollar a day

Target 2. Halve, between 1990 and 2015, the proportion of people who
suffer from Hunger

Goal 1 Achievement:
 Percentage of the total population below the national poverty line
2009 – 26.3%
2015 – 21.6%

 From 1991 – 2002 the percentage of undernourished decreased by


26.92%.

Goal 2. Achieve universal primary education

Target 3. Ensure that, by 2015, children everywhere, boys and girls


alike, will be able to complete a full course of primary schooling.

environmental resources

Target 10. Halve by 2015 the proportion of people without sustainable


access to safe drinking water

Target 11. By 2020 to have achieved a significant improvement in the


lives of at least 100 million slum dwellers

 In 2019 94% of the 24 million Filipino have improved their source of


drinking water.

was 38.30 as of 2014. Its highest value over the past 24 years was
54.30 in 1990, while its lowest value was 38.30 in 2014.

Goal 8. Develop a global partnership for development

Target 15. Deal comprehensively with the debt problems of developing


countries through national and international measures in order to make
debt sustainable in the long term

Target 16. In cooperation with developing countries, develop and


implement strategies for decent and productive work for youth
