At the end of the lesson the students are expected to:


1. Enumerate the different Basic Skills of Table Tennis.
2. Demonstrate 2 different types of shot (backhand + forehand) with some precision
3. progress skills learnt into an opposed game situation

Before we formally start our discussion may I


request you to stand and prepare yourself for a
prayer?

B. Motivation

guess the word or phrases that will be
constructed from that pictures.

C. Lesson Proper
What was our topic last meeting? - Ma’am about nature of Table Tennis and
we have an assignment about basic skills
of Table Tennis.
Great! So, let’s start! Please get your
assignments for us to have connection while
discussing.

First are the Grips. Anyone knows - Ma’am, it is the style of holding the
what the Grip is? racket to control the ball.

Good!
There are two basic styles in gripping,
the Shakehand Grip and also known as
International Grip. The second one is the
Penhold Grip.

/international Grip)

In addition Chinese Grip is like you are
holding a pen and remaining fingers are
curled at the back face of the racket.

Footwork and Stance.
I will let you watch the movie first for
both footwork and stance. (Play Video Clip

Okay class, stand up and let’s do the
footwork.
 Bend your knees slightly.
 Second, take a short step to the left
with your left foot. Bring your left
together by moving the right foot,

The third skill, the stroke. Who can


identify the strokes in playing the table - Forehand and Backhand Ma’am
tennis?

That’s correct! It is Forehand and


Backhand Drive.

Forehand drive in playing table tennis
you must strike the top back part of the
ball with a forceful brush in an upward
direction.

What about the Backhand, who can


execute the Backhand Drive? - (Execute the Backhand Drive)
Backhand Drive has a similarity to the
action of throwing the Frisbee. Striking the
top back part of the ball with forceful
brushing action.

In drive, striking the ball in a forceful


brush. What about striking the ball very
light force, Did you know that? - No Ma’am.
Okay, it is Push (Forehand Push and
Backhand Push)

*Activity
Let’s have an activity, it is like amazing
race. There are 3 stations, each station - (Form 3 groups, each group will execute
you will have a task to do. You must correctly the task. Each one of the group
execute correctly the skill or the task. Go will do it correctly)
to your group and select who will pick
your number.
First Task- Do Footwork and Stance 5
times side by side.
Second Task- Do Footwork and Stance
with the movement of Forehand Drive 5
times side by side.
Third Task- Do Footwork and Stance
with the movements of Backhand Drive 5
times side by side.
