CHAPTER 1
1.1 INTRODUCTION
This chapter presents the business profile and general description of TuberEats,
which fall under food service industry. It includes the history and background, mission,
vision, objectives, reason for choosing the business, nature, business logo and icon, and
executive summary.
1.2 HISTORY AND BACKGROUND
Food is a basic necessity. It will always remain in high demand because of its genre.
Restaurants offer a large menu including a variety of cuisines compared to fast foods, which
usually offers a small menu with quick service. Like every other country, the food industry has
flourished very well in the Philippines. Filipinos love to eat, thats why you will see a lot of
restaurants and fast foods around the cities.
Attracting a huge crowd to restaurants require more than just good food. Though
important, good food is only a part of the total dining experience. Equally important is believed
to be the way people feel while in the restaurant. This physical and emotional response is a result
of the atmosphere, the total environment to which customers are exposed. The proper
atmosphere can make the food, service and whole dining experience seem better. For that reason
a restaurant must maintain the following to encourage customers. This includes checking the
cleanliness of the facilities, freshness of the food, guarded premises, parking area, ambiance and
landscaping, building design, lighting, and even music.
There are many difficulties of establishing a restaurant. A restaurant should be in a
recognizable area which can be used as a landmark. In order to do so, the restaurant must find a

theme and that will totally attract the customers. With the right marketing strategy, high quality
services, good management and strong financial information, a new restaurant can be a great
business to start up.
The attraction of the underground restaurant for the customer varies. In some cases, it is
the opportunity to sample new food, often at low cost outside the traditional restaurant
experience.

To introduce the group of tuber crops or simply known root crops, whose importance and
prospects are not yet fully understand.
To offer a deeply personal experience that is unforgettable.
To provide nutritious food and good quality service.
To bring customers into the unique restaurant that keeps them coming back.
Create an atmosphere where each person can work as a team that will profit everyone.

1.6 REASON FOR CHOOSING THE BUSINESS
Restaurants can be found in almost everywhere that we may go and this is proof that this
kind of business is really good. Every once in a while, someone makes a decision to open up a
restaurant for whatever reasons he/she has. There are evidently many factors why people choose
to open such business.
The main reason is the fact that among other necessities, foods comes first. People
actually cook their foods but there are busy persons who prefer to go out and eat. There are also
individuals who want something new and unique, especially when they discovered something
not existed before. Commonly, we see different restaurant near schools, malls and other public
places. We choose underground restaurant not on the said places to make such difference. The

for a memorable experience that will foster customers loyalty.

TuberEats is principally engaged in the operation of full service and casual dining
experience. The income is derived from the food items being served to customers. With the
ability of cooking and serving delicious foods, it can generate income. TuberEats can now
classify to be in service type of business. The business will purchase raw materials and with the
skills of competent cooks and service crew, it can deliver and serve tasty foods. Each aspect is
vital and will contribute to its success. If the restaurant wants to thrive, then it must look for

reputed suppliers to have a regular source of inventory. The business should also have competent
staffs in delivering only the best food items to customers.
1.8. BUSINESS LOGO AND ICON
Description of Logo
The business came up with this logo because it represents the main essence of the entity.
The brown color in the background reflects the underground location of the business.
This color signifies stability, structure and support. It relates to quality in everything,
comfortable home and best foods and drink. This color also suppresses the emotions and creates
a safe haven from stresses of the world within which problems can be contemplated and solved.
With regards to circular words, underground restaurant, it reveals the aim of having a
continuous business operation. Diggin Your Hunger means the eagerness to produce quality

foods and services that brings satisfaction to customers. 2016 is the year when the business
started. The spoon and fork is the representation of the business involving in food industry.
TuberEats depicts the concept of being simple and affordable yet classy business entity.
1.9. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
1.9.1. Market Summary
The market projection of this business is based on the surveys conducted and other
related information gathered within the vicinity of our target location. Projection of demand,
supply, and sales of operation is based on the different factors like the population growth, market
acceptability, capacity to supply and other factors. This study is feasible because our target
population is willing and capable of availing our products and services. We also consider factors
like our competitors and prevailing prices of the suppliers that will affect our prices. Based on
our demand supply analysis we found out that we can supply the available market based on our
production capacity.
1.9.2. Technical Summary
The products that we are going to offer are mainly root crops-made dishes. Machineries
and equipment were enumerated as well as other supplies with their corresponding cost. The
project is feasible based on the different aspect that we consider in operating this business.
1.9.3. Management Summary
TuberEats is a partnership form of business. There is a store manager who is over all in
charged for the day-to-day operation of the business. At the present, the business has the total of

10 employees and as the business grows, new employees will be hired for the minor business
operation. Through good organizational structure, there will be smooth operation of the business,
also based on the technical knowhow of the managers, then, this business is feasible in this
aspect.
1.9.4. Financial Summary
The initial investment for TuberEats is P 10,000,000.00, which came from the partners
contribution to establish the business. There are no other sources of capital aside from the
contribution.
1.9.5. Socio-Economic Summary
The business is deemed to serve a great contribution to the governments effort in raising
its revenue for its function. These shall be in the form of income tax, permits, licenses and other
fees. The community will benefit because the business will provide jobs to individual that
improve their lives and a society as a whole.
