GENERAL
1.1

All WORK shall be performed in good workmanship and safely manner in

accordance with SAUDI ARAMCO Construction Safety Manual and in relevant
General Instructions and SAUDI ARAMCO Standards.

1.2

All WORK shall be executed in strict accordance with the Scope of Work and all
relevant Drawing(s).

1.3

All WORK shown on the Drawing(s) and not included in the Scope of Work shall
be deemed to be included in the WORK.

1.4

All WORK included in the Scope of Work and not shown on the Drawing(s) shall
be included in the WORK.

1.5

Any conflict between the Scope of Work and the Drawing(s) shall be referred
immediately to the SAUDI ARAMCO Project Engineer.

1.6

CONTRACTOR is held responsible to complete the project conforming in all

respects to the details and requirements of this Scope of Work as shown in the
Drawings and all applicable Saudi ARAMCO Codes and Standards.

MATERIALS
3.1

All materials supplied by the CONTRACTOR shall be supplied from a source

approved by Saudi ARAMCO and meet all relevant Saudi ARAMCO Standards
and Specifications.

3.2

CONTRACTOR shall submit, prior to procurement, samples of proposed

materials to be used; materials shall be submitted together with the
manufacturer's technical data and installation manual, for the study and approval
of the Saudi ARAMCO Project Engineer.

3.3

CONTRACTOR shall supply all temporary and expendable materials required to

perform the work.

3.4

Materials will be taken to site only as required and will not be stockpiled at the
site.

3.5

CONTRACTOR shall plan availability of all materials in advance. CONTRACTOR

shall be responsible for any delays caused due to lack of availability of
CONTRACTOR supplied materials in accordance with the General Service
Contract.

1.1

This Scope of Work must be read in conjunction with the drawings as listed in
Section 5.1.1 of this Scope of Work.

1.2

It is the intent of this Scope of Work to generally describe only the major
components of the work. It shall not be construed to be an itemized listing of
each element of the WORK or procedure for the construction of the entire
project. All works shown on the drawings listed in Paragraph 5.0 shall be
performed though not specifically described herein.

1.3

Unless otherwise stated all materials to be used in this project shall be as

described in Section 6.0 Technical Requirements of this Scope of Work and

SAUDI ARABIAN OIL COMPANY

The CONTRACTOR and all CONTRACTOR employees, agents and

subcontractors shall comply at all times with all applicable safety, health
and environmental regulations and all SAUDI ARAMCO General
Instruction (G.I.s), and other related rules and regulations. Specifically,
CONTRACTOR shall comply with the provision of the SAUDI ARAMCO
Construction Safety Manual (CSM), Saudi ARAMCO Safety Handbook,
all other such related requirements and any other successor manual
that replace these. In case of conflicting requirements, the most
stringent requirement shall apply. CONTRACTOR shall also take or
cause to be taken any additional measures under the direction of the
Company Representative to prevent the injury or death of any person,
or damage to the environment during CONTRACTORs performance of
the WORK. Supervisory personnel or other qualified staff shall be
present at the WORK Site while any WORK is in progress. SAUDI
ARAMCO reserves the right to monitor and inspect any WORK site,
laydown yard, fabrication yard, clinic, camp and dining facility (On or
Saudi ARAMCO property) for compliance with the above references
Safety, Health and Environmental Requirements. SAUDI ARAMCO
reserves the right to reject, remove from site, or have CONTRACTOR
destroy any tools or equipment found to be defective or of substandard
quality. Homemade, including shop-made, tools are strictly
prohibited. CONTRACTOR shall be responsible to identify and address
all potential safety, health and environmental issues in accordance with
Saudi ARAMCO Safety Management Guide for Contractor Pre-job
Safety Explanation Meetings Checklist (Loss Prevention Guide 07-0032007).

Housekeeping

DESCRIPTION

A.

CONTRACTOR shall dispose all construction

debris or solid waste generated during this project
in approved landfill in accordance to the
requirements of SAUDI ARAMCO Engineering
Standard, SAES-S-007. Collection, storage and
disposal of all nonhazardous and hazardous waste
shall be in accordance with SAUDI ARAMCO
General Instructions, GI 430.001. All Class II and
Class III waste as per SAES 007 are to be

Roads, Streets and Sidewalks

Excavation work on or near roads, streets and

sidewalks shall meet the requirements of SAUDI
ARAMCO General Instructions GI 1021.000 Street
and Road Closure: Excavations, Reinstatement
and Traffic Control.

Trenches in roads, streets and sidewalks shall be

completely covered with properly designed steel
plates where traffic flow needs to be maintained
over the trench.

Remove entirely all existing miscellaneous items or articles which obviously

interfere with the work. It is the CONTRACTORs responsibility to carefully

reinstate all such items following completion of the WORK to match existing,
including any finishing, to the satisfaction of the SAUDI ARAMCO Project

All areas in the vicinity of WORK shall be protected from damage. Any item that

to its original state by the CONTRACTOR. Any items which cannot be removed
shall be protected against the effects of the work and any water damage or

4.1.1

Verify actual field dimension and conditions on affected areas prior to

construction/installation of electrical equipment/devices relative to the
proposed electrical installation and other related work.

4.1.2

Disconnect/lock-out power supply before any related electrical activities

are carried-out. Power supply isolation shall comply with the
requirements of G. I. 6.012
Isolation, Lock-out, and Use of Hold
Tags.

4.1.3

Any necessary adjustment arising from a discrepancy from the drawing

shall need approval of SAUDI ARAMCO Project Engineer prior to

Concrete shall be supplied by the CONTRACTOR from Saudi

ARAMCO approved plant approved plant. Such plants shall conform to
the provisions of 09-SAMSS-097 using sulfate resistant Portland
cement (Type V). The minimum 28 day design compressive strength
per ASTM C39 shall be 28 MPA (4000 psi). For concrete above grade
use Portland Cement ASTM C150 Type I as defined under ACI 318M,
Chapter 4, Section 4.2 unless noted otherwise on drawings.

Reinforcing steel bars shall conform to 09-SAMSS-106, hot rolled, high
