Parenting Styles: Addicts vs. Non-Addicts

Parenting styles differ between drug addicts and non-addicts. A study found that drug addict parents were more likely to use harsh, inconsistent discipline and show less warmth, communication and monitoring of their children. In contrast, non-addict parents demonstrated more authoritative parenting with reasonable expectations and open communication.
