Maple Learn has so much to offer, but it can be tricky to know where to start! Even for those experienced with Maple Learn, sometimes, we miss an update with new features or fall out of practice with older ones. Luckily, we have the perfect solution for you–and it shows up right when you open your first document.

Introducing our brand-new Walkthrough Tutorial!

The tutorial covers all the main features of Maple Learn: from assigning functions, to using the Plot commands and Context Panel operations, all the way to creating your own visualizations with the Geometry commands. Stuck? Hints are provided throughout, or just click "Next" and the step will be completed automatically. 

If you're just starting out with Maple Learn, try the Beginner tutorial and work up to Advanced. This will introduce you to a holistic view of Maple Learn's capabilities along with some Maple Learn terminology. If you have some experience, starting with the Beginner tutorial is still a great option, but you may wish to begin with the Intermediate and Advanced tutorials. The Intermediate and Advanced sections cover how to use newer features of Maple Learn and you might discover something you haven't seen before!

How do I access the tutorial?

The tutorial will automatically launch when you open a new document. Head to https://learn.maplesoft.com and click "Open new document".

If the tutorial doesn't open automatically, it may have been disabled. You can manually open it by clicking the "Help" button in the top right, then clicking "Walkthrough Tutorial".

I found these features thanks to the Walkthrough Tutorial and my experience on Maple Learn hasn't been the same since! The Walkthrough Tutorial is a great introduction for new users, and a quick refresher for experts, but isn't the end of exploring Maple Learn's capabilities. Who else likes art?  I love art; doodling in my notebook between projects and classes is a great way to pass the time and keep my creativity sharp.  However, when I’m working in Maple Learn, I don’t need to get out my book; I can use the plot window as my canvas and get my drawing fix right then and there.

We’ve done a few blog posts on Maple Learn art, and we’re back at it again in even bigger and better ways.  Maple Learn’s recent update added some useful features that can be incorporated into art, including the ability to resize the plot window and animate using automatically-changing variables.

Even with all the previous posts, you may be thinking, “What’s all this?  How am I supposed to make art in a piece of math software?”  Well, there is a lot of beauty to mathematics.  Consider beautiful patterns and fractals, equations that produce surprisingly aesthetically interesting outputs, and the general use of mathematics to create technical art.  In Maple Learn, you don’t have to get that advanced (heck, unless you want to).  Art can be created by combining basic shapes and functions into any image you can imagine.  All of the images below were created in Maple Learn!

There are many ways you can harness artistic power in Maple Learn.  Here are the resources I recommend to get you started.

1. I’ve recently made some YouTube videos (see the first one below) that provide a tutorial for Maple Learn art.  This series is less than 30 minutes in total, and covers - in three respective parts - the basics, some more advanced Learn techniques, and a full walkthrough of how I make my own art.
2. Check out the Maple Learn document gallery art collection for some inspiration, the how-to documents for additional help, and the rest of the gallery to see even more Maple Learn in action!

Once you’re having fun and making art, consider submitting your art to the Maple Conference 2022 Maple Learn Art Showcase.  The due date for submission is October 14, 2022.  The Conference itself is on November 2-3, and is a free virtual event filled with presentations, discussions, and more.  Check it out!

I need a tutor for maple 17. Its very hard to program formulas and all even if its an online tutor im willing to pay

Recently, entered a engineering graduate program and will be taking a graduate engineering class in my retirement.  In our Into classes we reviewed engineering math through ODE. In the second class, we performed some numerical methods using MatLab with a small introduction.  My formal Math wass in the 1980s, but now have to fire it up for a Engineering Analysis using Michael Greenberg's Advanced Engineering Mathematics, 2nd which has Maple imbedded code and directions.

What would be my assignment for getting up to speed with using Maple to solve algebraic-symbol-programming problems? For instance, which tutorials in what order, or webinars? i think I once had Fortran 77 and remember zip.

Appreciate any good advice.
