How to read and write video file in maple?

i want to read one video file and then manipulate this to another file and then play two files to compare in maple

if maple 12 can not , which version can do?

The video component is going to save me alot of hassle in that I was previously building external java applications for audio visual analysis purposes, with the downside of course being that I didnt have maple code at my disposal. 

I read in the manual for the video component that I can provide a HTTP address for which a video is located, which would mean i could probably stream an IP camera, but I can I use the localhost IP address with some sort of extension that directs to the I/O of a webcamera connected to my local machine?

Running Maple15 on a five year old lap top, complicated animations are taking up to 30 seconds as shown by debugopt(traceproc) followed by showstat.

Would a discrete video card e.g. Nvidia as opposed to an integrated video card significantly reduce these times or are such times primarily dependent on processor speed?

hey guys, i need to do a couple presentations where i need to present some animations of equations such as

f(x) := a*(2*x^3 + x^2 - 3*x)    a=1..10

the question is how can i take the animation provided by maple and convert it to a some sort

 of video file such as and .avi file??

Maple16 on Ubuntu 12.04, 64-bit.  Radeon 4550 video.  plot3d images are kind of split down the middle with left half of the image on the right and right-half on the left, lots of flicker when trying to manipulate with the mouse, surface is monochrome and poorly rendered, crashes maple application if you try to manipulate it too much.

This behavior occurs using the default xorg video driver (not proprietary) and default xorg configuration.  I have not...
