About this audiobook

Jesse McDermitt has been grieving the loss of a loved one to terrorists. He’s been holed up on his secluded island home for months, numbing his mind and body with endless, mundane tasks. But he has a plan for vengeance.

A friend approaches Jesse seeking help for her dad who's been pressured into running drugs for a dangerous Cuban smuggler. When Jesse learns that the smuggler is also an arms merchant for Hezbollah, the terrorist organization responsible for the death of someone close, he once again looks to settle the score.

Fast boats, beautiful underwater scenery, and blazing guns abound in this fast paced romp through the Caribbean, with stops in Cuba, Key West, and Cozumel, Mexico.

I am an aircraft pilot, a gun enthusiast and a scuba diver with many logged hours doing all in many places on the earth and it is so very refreshing to hear real and accurate descriptions of these things while enjoying a real man's man hero doing heroic things. Way to go Wayne! Bye the way, I went to the same high school as you and was drum major of the marching Mustangs in 1972. Excellent book!

I'm enjoying the Jesse McDermitt series by Wayne Stinnett for the most part. The story line is always intriguing with exciting action scenes and edge of your seat suspense.

Fallen Hunter includes multiple step-by-step routes through the Florida Keys, characters continuously bringing boats "up to plane", name dropping of fish that I've never heard of before - sans descriptions and repeated morning or evening rituals - just like in the previous three books of the series that I've read to date. Typos and missing words continue, Red Stripe Beer and a full thermos of Columbian coffee are always available and Jesse has sex with a new female character...I do love that dog, though!

The author continues to add more and more characters to his story which doesn't allow readers an opportunity to get to know them individually - might need to generate a "cast of characters" sheet going forward to keep track of them all. He does show his quick wit and sarcasm via snippets from these characters - making me laugh out loud several times.

I've already purchased the next two books in the series and expect to learn more about water routes and those other things mentioned earlier. However, I look forward to see what kind of mischief Jesse and company will get into next - as we go forward, it appears like Jesse is expanding and getting deeper into black ops - perhaps I'll learn more in the next installment. Beware, the ending of this book will leave readers with mouths agape!

I still recommend reading the series to learn more about life in the Florida Keys and covert operations by former military specialists who are now employed by Homeland Security.
