About this audiobook
“In Britney Spears’s memoir, she’s stronger than ever.” —The New York Times
Over 2 million copies sold of the “moving” (Time), “powerful” (Los Angeles Times), “radiant” (The New York Times), “poignant” (Vogue) #1 New York Times bestseller. The Woman in Me is a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope.
In June 2021, the whole world was listening as Britney Spears spoke in open court. The impact of sharing her voice—her truth—was undeniable, and it changed the course of her life and the lives of countless others. The Woman in Me reveals for the first time her incredible journey—and the strength at the core of one of the greatest performers in pop music history.
Written with remarkable candor and humor, Spears’s groundbreaking book illuminates the enduring power of music and love—and the importance of a woman telling her own story, on her own terms, at last.
Editor's Note
It’s Britney...
A memoir by pop sensation Spears would be a must-read under any circumstances, but one published soon after the highly publicized battle to end her conservatorship is all the more compelling. Finally — after 13 years under her father’s control and a lifetime in the public eye — the singer speaks her truth about music, family, heartbreak, and reclaiming her independence. Actress Michelle Williams (“The Fabelmans”) narrates this testament to strength and resilience.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This was super good and very well thought out. I loved learning more about Britney Spear's intire life with the perspective of herself.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Michelle Williams reading made me feel as if Britany herself was reading it to me. Britany’s life story is engaging because it has all the elements of evil, suffering, freedom and God. It not only reveals the injustices within her family but the bigger system of the state that can be manipulated and potentially enslave someone innocent. Britany’s story was personally enriching and now I can see a glimpse of her true being behind the music.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow! Unbelievable! What her family has done to her is unimaginable! She didn't have parents, she had monsters! It breaks my heart for her! I'm so happy that her life is FINALLY her own! How this can happen to such a public figure is so terrifying! I never even knew it was possible! This woman deserves our utmost respect and our deepest apologies for not recognizing the trauma that her monsters were allowed to dole out to her! It's shocking a father could be such a scumbag!! All the while being paid handsomely by her! Absolutely despicable!
The very best wishes to her and those she chooses to be in her life now! Good riddance to the blood suckers that tried to steal her spirit! God bless you Brittany! - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/52nd time reading it and is just so amazing. Love you Brit! ????

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This is an eye-opening look into the hell Brittney faced throughout her life. I have been a Brittney fan my entire life. I knew she went through some bad things, but I never knew how horrible it was. I am so glad that she has shared her life and experiences with us. The fact that she was brave enough to share such deep private experiences is so inspiring.
I hope she is finally able to live her life the way she wants and can find the happiness and the help that she has deserved from the beginning. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Muy lindo y triste a la vez pero interesante el libro

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Very moving and an absolutely astonishing story of the princess of pop. Her strength, resilience, and overall positive outlook she had/has throughout her life is inspiring to say the least. A wonderfully unique story that sheds light on conservatorship abuse (which I didn't even know existed until Britney's dilemma), and all kinds of struggles that your average person can relate to. Any unbiased person would enjoy this in my opinion.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Amazing story that I couldn't put down. Narration is the best I've heard possibly ever in regards to audiobooks. I loved this book.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5This book was very moving. How she described and showed her strength is inspiring. I must say I was a never huge fan of her. Now I see her in a new light. She is a role model and half. I did take a star away because I did still feel like she was a victim her whole life. The other piece I was personally offended by when she said how dangerous and terrible lithium is. Well for me it’s amazing and keeps me safe.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Such a strong woman . She has overcame so much . Getting this glimpse into what she has been through and how she was raised was such a sad gripping story
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I really loved this book and I have a deep love, understanding and admiration of Britney Spears now. I find myself judging less because you really never know what someone has it is going through and why they act the way they do. Thank you for sharing your story ❤️
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5You often hear kids say they want to be famous! After reading this and hearing her infinite struggle. I pray my child stays the little girl wondering in the Louisiana woods.
I have so much MORE real respect for Britney than I ever did! She is the real role model! As a girl growing up in the 90’s she’s been a role model my whole life! Now, she’s a model of strength for me! ? - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It’s hard to believe someone could go through this much.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5I found her book too be heart felt. Keep pushing Brittany!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5It all make sense now. I am thankful for this book. I feel sorry for Britney and I hope she will find her way to be trully happy again
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Wow just wow!!! They did her sooooo dirty, it breaks my heart. She will never get back to normal again. Hands down amazing!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5A great interspersed look into the price of fame, the cost of being a woman in entertainment, and finding your truth.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Absolutely incredible! The amount of strength it must have taken to write this story, for Brittany to be so open, raw and vulnerable after everything she went through, the thought is enough to bring me to my knees. It is a stark reminder that even someone who seemed to the public to be doing so well can in reality be suffering. What she went through was inhuman and barbaric and i am so proud of her for finding the strength to tell her story even though it mist have been beyond difficult for her. Would definitely recomend!
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5This book was so moving and the narrator delivers Britneys story BEAUTIFULLY!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Beautiful and honest autobiography of one of the most influential artists of her generation. A survival story.
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5I appreciate being able to hear Britney tell her story. It is a very sad tale when you feel that you cannot rely on your own family to love, uplift, and support you.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5So very good! I really enjoyed the audio version! It was very well put together.
