About this audiobook
An Instant New York Times Bestseller
Beloved bestselling author Mitch Albom returns with his most important novel to date, an unforgettable story of truth and lies set during the Holocaust.
Eleven-year-old Nico Krispis has never told a lie. When the Nazis invade his home in Salonika, Greece, the trustworthy boy is discovered by a German officer, who offers him a chance to save his family. All Nico has to do is persuade his fellow Jewish residents to board trains heading “north,” where new jobs and safety await. Unaware that this is all a cruel ruse, the innocent boy reassures passengers on the station platform every day.
But when the final train is loaded, Nico sees his family being herded into a boxcar. Only then does he discover that he has helped send them—and everyone he knows and loves—to their doom at Auschwitz.
Nico escapes—but he never tells the truth again.
In The Little Liar, Mitch Albom examines the human repercussions of deception by interweaving the stories of Nico, who yearns for forgiveness; his older brother, Sebastian, who vows revenge against him; Fannie, the girl who must choose between them; and Udo Graf, the Nazi officer who forever changed their lives with his lies.
Through the war years, the concentration camps, and the decades that follow, Albom reveals the consequences of each person’s honesty and dishonesty, bringing them back to where it all started in a staggering climax worthy of the best of Albom’s internationally embraced stories.

Stop! This is the ONE you've been looking for! The Little Liar is set in the darkest era of human history. Told through the experiences of 4 main characters the oppressed or the oppressor opted it operators maligned human heart's unbounded ability for cruelty and disregard against fellow man
expertly told historical fiction. Based on . The Holocaust. Humanity's inhumanity. Unfathomable tragedy written about with poignancy, love, respect. The My other experience with this author was lackluster, but The Little Liar kept popping up in recommendations. Had it not been for the number of stars in the reviews, I would have skipped it.

This is a tough read only because of the subject matter. It was beautifully written. He put a lot of time and effort into research and telling the story in a way that captivates you and puts you there in that moment. If you don't know a lot about the holocaust and you're planning to read this book, brace yourself. this book is fiction, but the events and how the jews were treated are true. It's horrific and sad. But as horrible as this part of history is, it needs to be told and people need to remember no matter how painful it is. - Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5

Hard to read but captivating. I didn't want to stop listening even though it was difficult to hear some of the atrocities that people are capable of. Could it be a peer into our own future if we don't learn from history?1 person found this helpful

Meh!
Shallow, hokey telling of a story that should be harrowing and extremely emotional. Plus the Truth narrator angle just seems like a lame rip-off of The Book Thief.1 person found this helpful
