It was a bit too cringey for me. Other books were kinda cringey as well, but they were mostly entertaining-cringey. This one not so much. The heroine was just too stupid (her choices didn't make sense way too often), the plot twists were pretty bad. They often made me feel like peeling my skin off (because of how cringey they were). The series were not bad, but the ending was not great. 3 stars is the most I can give

Love this series! The books are so suspenseful and I love the whimsical and magical world it’s in. My only complaint is the the male narrator for this last audiobook really threw me off. He voiced Jacks as an old, midwestern type of voice that was gruff and irritating. It was really distracting accents from the male perspective, but the story is great and the female narrative isn’t irritating and pulls you in.

Why the narrator did poor Castor so dirty? The voice didn’t suit him at all in my opinion. But the book was good, I listened all three books in just a week. I really liked Jacks character from the Caraval trilogy and having some chapters from his pov was all I needed from this book.

I don't know what's happening. On one hand, one of my favorite trilogies of all time has ended, and I was waiting for it with such eagerness that I think all that excitement and expectation somewhat ruined the experience for me. I came in ready to declare that this is the best book ever, and it is indeed very good, but to be honest, not that much; I even think the second book in this trilogy is better. There are several aspects that disappointed me. The first was that the first half felt slow, boring, and even at times tedious. I don't know why, but it just couldn't pull me in; it felt strange, as if something wasn't right, and I couldn't understand what it was. Another thing that didn't sit well with me was the way it ended. I felt as if my book or the story lacked at least three more chapters; I needed more explanations, and it seemed like, in the last chapter, someone told the author, "Hey, you need to finish this chapter because we're about to print it," that's how incomplete that ending felt to me, and I felt like I was left with many loose ends, unresolved issues, and no answers. I don't want to be misunderstood; it's an excellent book, and there were many things I loved, especially from the middle to the end, excluding that strange closure, which was the best part of my life. I sighed so much; I felt so immersed in the story, and it was so well narrated that I could vividly visualize it in my imagination. It's incredible how one well-executed part connects with something that didn't evoke emotions for me. The truth has so many reflections on what love really is that I could relate to it. The things a person would do for love or ambition are very interesting, and it makes one ponder how far one feeling can go over the other. Jacks is one of my favorite characters of all time, but here I feel like the essence of his love gets a bit lost. Despite that, I still love him and adore what he does. I love how Evangeline's character evolves at this point, making her more self-aware, and despite being more vulnerable, she ends up being a true warrior who doesn't fight for the common good; she's human and fights for what she wants, and that's it. She's not a typical heroine; just a girl in love. Sometimes, we need that, characters who are more normal and not super warrior Amazons. The interactions between Jacks and Evangeline are so well done, and you can see how their relationship developed step by step that at this point, just by reading a couple of actions, you can feel the tension and emotions from both of them. I expected more, but I loved it nonetheless. I guess the second book in the trilogy remains my favorite book of the trilogy. (Translated from Spanish)
