For fans of The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue and Life After Life, a poignant genre-bending debut novel about a man and woman who must discover why they continue to meet in different versions of their lives—a thrilling and imaginative exploration of the infinite forms of love and how our choices can change everything.
Thora and Santi have met before.
Two strangers in a foreign city, Thora and Santi meet in a chance encounter. At once, they recognize in each other a kindred spirit—someone who is longing for more in life than the cards they’ve been dealt. Before their friendship can blossom, though, a tragic accident cuts their story short.
They will meet again.
But this is only one of the many connections they share. Like satellites trapped in orbit around each other, Thora and Santi will find each other again: as husband and wife; teacher and student; caretaker and patient; cynic and believer. In recurring lifetimes they become friends, partners, lovers, and enemies.
Only they can make sure it’s not for the last time.
As strange patterns and blurred memories compound, Thora and Santi come to a shocking revelation. They must work together to discover the true reason behind their repeating realities . . . before their many lives come to one, final end.

- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Jun 22, 2025 My god what a wonderfully tragic story. I couldn’t put it down and when it finally ended I was sobbing. This is one of those books that will stay with me forever.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Oct 23, 2023 I almost gave up on this book before it really got good. I’m so glad I didn’t. This is one of the most interesting stories I’ve read in a while. Very excited to see the movie when it comes out!
- Rating: 2 out of 5 stars2/5Sep 27, 2024 This book has an intriguing premise, but though the writing is fair, the protagonists are dull, and the book itself is basically chapter after endless chapter of conversation. The dénouement doesn't save it, merely serves to point out how good this idea could have been in another's hands. It's also the softest sci-fi imaginable, and probably better suited to those who don't generally read sci-fi.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sep 2, 2024 I could not put this down.....what was happening to the twosome of Thora and Santi. The ending was .....a litte confusing or do I mean sad?? Loved the whole story and I was fascinated with the variety of life upon life for each of them, until they realized what those lives were. I'm totally impressed with the writer's creativity!
- Rating: 4 out of 5 stars4/5Oct 21, 2021 Some excellent parts. A bit too science fiction for me but had it’s moments.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Apr 26, 2021 This book was not at all what I was expecting. I thought it would be similar to The Time Traveler's Wife or The Dream Daughter, but it was more science fiction than a love story. It was more like a series of short stories about Thora and Santi and the revelation that ties everything together wasn't until the very end of the book. It was well written, it just wasn't for me. Thanks to NetGalley for the digital ARC.
- Rating: 5 out of 5 stars5/5Sep 7, 2021 Engaging, beautifully written, pacing runs at lightspeed , and verges into cross genre.
- Rating: 3 out of 5 stars3/5Jul 21, 2021 Thora and Santi become connected to each other through one encounter which, a few days later, ends in tragedy. But this isn’t the end, they are destined to meet again and again in different lives… until one day they work out who they are and discover the truth.
At first I was quite intrigued by this story but, sadly, I began to lose interest as it progressed. I found it difficult to connect to the characters, there’s no chemistry between them, and I found the way it was played out quite confusing. I think I was expecting more of a love story, perhaps a little like The Time Traveller’s Wife. This is quite different. It’s more about a growing awareness of who Thora and Santi are and how they deal with it.
Although I enjoy a time travel tale, I’m not a big sci fi fan. I appreciate the beautiful writing, though - it is without doubt wonderfully written and clever. This book has plenty of 5⭐️ ratings. It just isn’t really my cup of tea.
