The North Carolina Courage and Bay FC played to a 1-1 draw at WakeMed Soccer Park in Cary, North Carolina, on Friday night. Asisat Oshoala scored early for Bay FC, but Ashley Sanchez equalized for the Courage before halftime.

Oshoala opened the scoring in the ninth minute with a right-footed shot from the center of the box, assisted by Tess Boade following a fast break. The goal marked Oshoala's fifth of the season.

The Courage responded in the 28th minute when Denise O'Sullivan set up Sanchez, who fired a right-footed shot into the bottom left corner from inside the box. It was Sanchez's fifth goal this season.

Both teams had opportunities to take control throughout an intense second half but were unable to convert. Casey Murphy made five saves for North Carolina (10-1-8), while Katelyn Rowland recorded one for Bay FC (8-0-11).

Up next: North Carolina will host Louisville FC on Sept. 21 at 7:30 p.m. ET, while Bay FC will host the Orlando Pride on Sept. 20 at PayPal Park at 10:30 p.m.
