Racing Louisville edges Angel City 2-1

Racing Louisville FC, buoyed by the efforts of Bethany Balcer and Janine Beckie, edged out visiting Angel City FC 2-1 at Lynn Family Stadium on Saturday.

Balcer scored in the 26th minute to level the match after Meggie Dougherty Howard had given Angel City a lead in the 18th minute. Assisted by Ary Borges, Balcer's header from the center of the box found its way into the bottom right corner, and a VAR review confirmed the goal.

Beckie sealed the victory for Racing Louisville (5-8-7) with a decisive score in the 68th minute. Her right-footed shot from the right side of the box beat DiDi Haracic to find its mark in the bottom right corner.

The lone score from Angel City (6-11-3) came courtesy of Dougherty Howard's left-footed strike from the center of the box. Despite several attempts to equalize late -- including shots from Madison Curry and Messiah Bright in stoppage time -- Angel City couldn't break through Racing Louisville's defense again.

Katie Lund stood firm between Racing Louisville's posts, making four saves. Her counterpart, Haracic, also managed four saves.
