A meaningful life is a creation––our life-creation. It brings together the unique way we live (a personal identity), and the things we believe in and are committed to (a worldview). A meaningful life does not guarantee happiness in the sense of pleasure and enjoyment. It could be quite the opposite. Some meaningful lives are fraught with painful struggle. If we must choose between the two, better choose meaning. Happiness is transient, whereas meaning lasts till the end of one's life.
