TUBA

Esta obra es un viaje por las haciendas de palmas de coco que surgieron a finales del siglo XVI y tuvieron su auge en el siglo XVII, en la franja costera del Pacífico novohispano. Allí, cientos de filipinos o "indios chinos" que llegaron a través del Galeón de Manila se establecieron de forma permanente, e introdujeron la técnica del destilado en México a través de la producción de vino de cocos. En un contexto nacional en que se debate si existió o no la destilación prehispánica, esta investigación tiene mucho que contar.

Elder Music, Instrumental Music Performance and Affirmative Aging is a Practice-led research project in Community Music performance. A phenomenological, auto-ethnographic critique of lived musical experience by a senior, former professional musician returning to an accomplished instrumental music performance practice after a playing hiatus of twenty-four years. Research that arose in response to this personal aesthetic process resulted in a performance-led community music investigation, detailing the journey of a musician returning to active performance, without claiming to be either unique or typical. It is both a chronicle articulating the incidence and benefice of later life music making and a report on how this experiential and artistic process involves many mature musicians. Qualitative artistic research revealing a context to the breadth of active involvement and commitment of older musicians, who are not only quantitatively significant and noteworthy in their numbers and musical influence, but in also reflecting the positive benefits of community music making within our society in promoting personal and collective wellness, vitality and social bonding through collegial expressions of abstract musical truth and beauty.

Transitar de un lenguaje escrito a otro visual no es una tarea fácil para un historiador. Usualmente uno dispone de escasos medios materiales, pero con la motivación principal de que el trabajo debe realizarse en una modalidad distinta a la habitual, es decir, pasar del libro o el artículo científico al trabajo audiovisual; pasar de un público académico a otro más general. Este documental tuvo cuatro grandes soportes: el trabajo de archivo, el trabajo de campo, la búsqueda de financiamiento y la producción audiovisual.

The tuning of specific notes on wind instruments is problematic. This document looks the at basic tendencies of individual instrument tuning. It offers directors and individual students suggestions and insights. This includes a quantitative system for individuals to log their personal instrument's tuning, learn it's tendencies, and gives them insights on how to play more in tune throughout the range of their instrument.

Tendo o universo do choro como uma das principais referências de música popular brasileira de raiz, percebemos a atuação de diversos instrumentistas de sopros na construção dos alicerces desta identidade sonora. Diante deste contexto sociocultural, objetiva-se um direcionamento para os músicos de metais graves que atuavam profissionalmente neste cenário. Tal direcionamento se justifica frente a necessidade de compreender melhor o desenvolvimento destes instrumentos e o papel que os mesmos representavam nas bandas de música. É com a intenção de mostrar a atuação dos músicos de metais graves para a comunidade dedicada a musicologia popular brasileira que este artigo é desenvolvido.

This paper presents the preliminary results ofthe excavations (2004-2009) ofAknashen-Khatunarkh, a Neolith­ ic site in the plain ofArarat. More than 300 m2 has been excavated ofthis tel!, which is about 100 m in diam­ eter and 3,5 min height. The cultural layer, more than 4 m thick, was subdivided preliminarily into five hori­ zons, the upper one (1) belonging to the Early Chalcolithic and the others (II-V) to the Late Neolithic. A series of14C dates enables dating the Neolithic horizons to the first halfofthe 6 th millennium.

La presente investigación tiene por objetivo averiguar y describir científicamente el proceso llevado a cabo por el propio intérprete de tuba al ofrecer públicamente en vivo una audición de tuba y piano interpretando el concierto inédito "La Tuba Verde" del compositor edetano Raúl Martín Niñerola (Llíria, 1983-), creado y dedicado expresamente al autor de este trabajo. Al mismo tiempo se ha analizado la obra y estudiado la aportación que supone su creación en el enriquecimiento del repertorio contemporáneo escrito para la tuba como instrumento solista. El trabajo se ha complementado con el registro sonoro profesional de la obra en formato CD.
