Spanish Case: E.T.A.

En las líneas que siguen, por tanto, analizaremos las representaciones que la literatura en lengua vasca ha realizado de conflictos armados como la Guerra de 1936 y el terrorismo de ETA, para, a través del análisis de algunas de las obsesiones que la han dominado, reflexionar en torno al relato de los hechos que se ha realizado, sus contenidos y forma estética, así como su recepción. Tendríamos que precisar que más que un repaso de la representación de ETA en la literatura vasca (Olaziregi 2017), o una reflexión exhaustiva sobre las peculiaridades de la rememoración de la Guerra Civil en nuestra narrativa (Olaziregi 2009, Olaziregi 2011), trataremos de centrarnos en aquellas obras que, en nuestra opinión, han rememorado ambos conflictos con la intención de contribuir a una memoria cultural que sirva de base para la conformación de una memoria colectiva que incluya, desde diferentes puntos de vista, el sufrimiento y reconocimiento del daño causado, y contribuya a la convivencia.

This article aims to shed some light on the current debate of the independence in the European broad context that the author entitled 'Postindependence', by pointing out remarkable differences between EU nation-states such as the UK and Spain.

The UK and Spain are not depicted as having the same nation-state DNA with regard to their respective histories and political-cultural traditions. A glance at the current European regional comparative context reveals that, while the UK Government has legitimised the Scottish Government and supported the Scottish Independence referendum as being a highly democratic exercise, Spain stands out as remaining normatively inflexible without, so far, even contemplating any dialogue with the presidents of the Catalan and Basque Autonomies.

ETA’s terrorist violence and the more than 850 murders committed by the terrorist organization have conditioned the Spanish socio-political landscape for many years. This paper tries to provide an overview of what the terrorist organization ETA has been, in a historical journey from its origin to the dissolution of the organization in 2018, which will help understand the operation of the terrorist organization, which, in turn, will allow for a better analysis of the counter-terrorist policy implemented in the fight against ETA’s terrorism by each government within the reference period chosen for this paper, as well as the main legal tools used during these years with the aim of eradicating terrorism from our society.

El artículo realiza un análisis de la recepción de la conocida novela de Atxaga y de su importancia en la trayectoria del escritor vasco. Además, se realiza una reflexión en torno a aspectos fundamentales de la novela como su fragmentarismo, su lectura de la arqueología del terrorismo de ETA, el modus autobiográfico o los elementos paratextuales
