Background: There is great need to improve editing of medical journals, both on regional and global level.
Objective: The aim of our article was to establish main principles of editing biomedical scientific journals
based on evidence found through systematic search of scientific literature. Methods: The evidence for writing
this Guideline was systematically searched for during June 2020 in the PUBMED and GOOGLE SCHOLAR databases. The inclusion criteria were: original studies, systematic reviews, invited expert opinions, guidelines
and editorials. The exclusion criteria were narrative reviews and un-invited opinion articles. Results: In
total 11 recommendations were made, based mostly on A and B class of evidence. The editors should educate
potential authors and instruct them how to structure their manuscript, how to write every segment of the
manuscript, and take care about correct use of statistical tests. Plagiarism detection softwares should be used
regularly, and statistical and technical editing should be rigorous and thorough. International standards of
reporting specific types of studies should be followed, and principles of ethical and responsible behaviour
of editors, reviewers and authors should be published on the journal’s web site.Conclusion: Evidence-based
principles of editing biomedical scientific journals should be followed by chief editors of the journals as a
prerequisite of the journals’ quality improvement.

Science that analyzes scientific papers and their citation in the scientific journals-called scientometrics-day by day has become important for measuring scientific validity and quality of all kinds of publications deposited in the most important on-line scientific databases, like WoS, Scopus, Medline, PubMed Central, Embase, Hinari, etc., but also in academic platforms ResearchGate and Academia.edu. Scientometrics use the Impact and Echo factor for measuring the quality of publications in WoS journals, Scopus uses the h-Index, and the most common one used in the last 10 years is Google Scholar index. All of them have advantages and disadvantages, and also positive and negative influences in the academic praxis. One of the greatest, and sadly too common, problems which participants in the academic process encountered are plagiarism and predatory publishing. In order to prevent this severest form of academic fraud, authors must give credit to someone whose work has helped him/her by citing references correctly. Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the bibliographic characteristics and content of articles on flood management published in journals indexed by Scopus written by researchers from throughout the world from 2000 to 2019. Methods: We obtained data from the Scopus database on October 2, 2020. “Flood management” was used to search across several categories, including article title, abstract, and keywords, filtered by subject area (social science; environmental science; and business, management, and accounting). One of the main responsibilities of the editorial office is to communicate effectively with authors through emails, formal letters, and most importantly through decision letters. Even when the content is informative and constructive and the editor has only good intentions, if the tone and level of formality are not managed properly, the image of the journal may be negatively affected, which may deter authors from submitting papers to the journal again. Purpose: The aim of this study was to analyze the bibliometric characteristics of articles on innovation systems published in Scopus-indexed journals by authors with Indonesian affiliations from 1998 to 2019, in comparison with those published by authors from Singapore and Malaysia.Methods: We conducted a bibliometric and content analysis of publications in the Scopus database. A total of 138 articles from Indonesia, 209 articles from Singapore, and 309 articles from Malaysia were analyzed. They were classified by publication year, authors, co-authors’ country, affiliation, keywords, and journal title.Results: Authors with affiliations from Malaysia were more productive than authors from Singapore and Indonesia during 1998 to 2019. It was known that there were 5,900 scientific journals in Indonesia in 2013. Those journals were grouped into three classes, namely non-accredited journals (5,579 titles), accredited journals (342 titles), and international journals (16 titles), and most journals are published by universities, faculties, or departments [1]. In June 2019, the number of scientific journals increased to more than 14,000. Among them, only a few journals are indexed in international databases. Up to 2019, there were 49 journals in Scopus, 63 in Web of Science master journal list, and 1, 358 in Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ) [2]. Purpose: This study analyzed the bibliometric characteristics of flipped classroom publications in the Social Science Citation Index and Science Citation Index Expanded from 2000 to 2019. Methods: The terms related to “flipped classroom” and “inverted learning” were the keywords for searching journal articles on January 3, 2020. Results: There are 645 articles (including 33 early-access articles), representing 1,938 authors in the 210 journals scanned. The United States, China, and Taiwan were three leading countries/regions in this field.
