In recent times, the use of game designs in a non-game context known as gamification has been postulated to encourage learning and business engagement. This paper explores the perceived understanding of students and administrators concerning game elements as a build-up to gamifying Sakai which is a Learning Management System adopted by the University of Ghana. Survey data was gathered from both undergraduate and postgraduate students (N=40) and interview granted to the Sakai team. The study examined their gaming experience, the expectation of gamification and perceived usefulness of game elements. The findings show that gamification is a new concept and students in Ghana are receptive to the idea of adding game elements to Sakai. Additional contribution includes identifying an existing organizational system (e.g. sakai) and integrating the game elements rather than developing a new system. Further, students perceived the addition of game elements as an incentive to visit the Sakai frequently. The findings implications are discussed. https://goo.gl/71S57E

Der Schwerpunkt der Arbeit ist auf die Entwicklung der Raumnutzung des südöstlichen Siebenstromlandes im kulturhistorischen Kontext gerichtet. Der Steppengürtel des östlichen Eurasiens bietet ein enormes Potential für geistes- und naturwissenschaftliche Forschungen. In einer Kleinregion im südostkasachischen Siebenstromland konnte eine einmalige Konzentration von Bodendenkmälern der Bronze- und Früheisenzeit untersucht werden. Die Dokumentation und Kartierung der archäologi-schen Bodendenkmäler hat ein besseres Verständnis der Raumnutzung in den prähistorischen Perioden zur Folge. Die neu gewonnenen und zusammengeführten Informationen sollen den bis dato skizzenhaften Forschungsstand ergänzen und erweitern. Das Hauptaugenmerk richtet sich auf Nekropolen mit Großkurganen der sakischen Elite. Analysen dieser Kurgangräberfelder bezüglich ihrer Verteilung im Gelände und der Erfassung ihrer inneren Struktur im Untersuchungsgebiet belegen beeindruckend den Prozess einer steten Entwicklung und Ausbreitung der sehr mobilen, reiternomadischen Kultur seit dem Anfang der Früheisenzeit, wobei die Untersuchung der vorangehenden Bronzezeit ein Kulturwandel von der Bronze- zur Früheisenzeit besser nachzeichnen zu können verhilft.

Özet: Bu çalışmada yükseköğrenime özelleşmiş, dünya üzerinde yaygın kullanıma sahip ve açık kaynak kodlu bir öğrenme yönetim sistemi olan Sakai'de tek şifre yönetiminin (single sign on) kullanımı hakkında bilgi verilecektir. Çalışmada alanyazın taraması yönteminden ve yazarın Sakai deneyimlerinden yararlanılacaktır. Bu bağlamda Sakai öğrenme yönetim sistemine tek şifre yönetiminin bütünleştirilmesi ve bu bütünleştirmenin detayları sunulacaktır. Ayrıca yazar Microsoft Active Directory üzerinde yer alan öğrenci hesaplarının LDAP hizmeti kullanılarak Sakai sistemine entegrasyonu ile ilgili deneyimlerini paylaşacaktır. Abstract: In this paper, information about single sign on services in Sakai learning management system which is open source and widely used in higher education will be given. This study mainly based on authors' Sakai experiences, and literature review method. In this context, single sign on integration of Sakai learning management system and details of this integration will be presented. In addition, author will share integration experiences about Microsoft Active Directory student account integration which are configured to support LDAP on Sakai.

We present the ecosystem of e-learning (EeL) model, which can be applied to any higher education context, and which takes full account of all inhabitants and their interrelationships, not only the components, of the e-learning food chain. Specifically, this model was applied to our context within the University of the Western Cape, highlighting the role of the academic developer within the model. A key argument advanced in this paper is that academic developers should work to reduce complexities associated with emerging e-tools. The EeL model is used to emphasise the role of academic developers as mediators between components and relationships. Significance: • By the application of the EeL model, it is demonstrated that the use of e-tools and their alignment with pedagogies within any context must be sensitive to the entire ecosystem, with the recognition that this is simultaneously a top-down and a bottom-up process. • The student must be the core focus in the adoption of emerging technologies and the learning process, but simultaneously the student can only be in focus when they are placed within their broader ecosystem-including the societal level. • Our findings add to the debate on physics education specifically, and more broadly by providing new ways of conceptualising an e-learning ecosystem. • It is advocated that an academic developer-mediator should step in to mediate between academics, tutors and emerging e-tools, through a structured developmental process for learning and teaching. • The EeL model can afford an insight into the processes involved when incorporating a learning management system (and emerging e-tools) into learning and teaching in higher education institutions.

Abstrak: Tujuan peneitian ini adalah : (1) Identifikasi kelompok warga Sakai Ingin memperoleh (2) Peran Pemerintah Daerah dalam pembangunan budaya dan kearifan lokal,(3) Model penguataan modal sosial yang sesuai untuk Suku Sakai mendeskriptifkan. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan kualitatif dengan mengungkapkan fenomenologi, mengeksplorasi dan mendeskriptifkan kondisi warga Sakai saat ini. Informan penelitian yaitu Kepala Dinas Pariwisata dan kebudayaan Kabupaten Bengkalis, Camat Tualang Mandau, Camat Mandau , Camat Bathin Salopan Kepala Desa dan ketua Bathin (kepala suku) di tiga kawasan Sakai yaitu kawasan hutan Tanaman Industri, Kawasan sungai Rokan Muandau, dan kawasan adat bathin salopan.penelitian ini dilakukan pada tahun juli 2018 sampai dengan april 2019. Hasil penelitian ini adalah (1) identifikasi menemukan kelompok warga sakai terbagi empat kelompok yang berada dalam wilayah yang berbeda. (2) Peran pemerintah dianggap belum maksimal dalam pembangunan dan pemberdayaan warga sakai di kabupaten bengkalis (3) Model penguatan modal social pada Pemerintah, swasta dan masyarakat harus saling memperkuat serta mendukung dalam pembanguan dan pemberdayaan masyarakat suku sakai. The research informants The results of this study are (1) identification of finding groups of Sakai residents divided into four groups who are in different areas. (2) The role of the government is considered to have not been maximal in the development and empowerment of the Sakai people in the Bengkalis district (3) The social capital strengthening model in the Government, the private sector and the community must mutually strengthen and support the development and empowerment of the Sakai tribe.

Tari Poang merupakan tari ritual adat penyambutan tamu oleh masyarakat Sakai, khususnya Bathin Sobanga dari kelompok suku Bathin Solapan, Kabupaten Bengkalis. Tarian ini hanya ditampilkan dalam penyambutan tamu-tamu adat, pemerintahan, dan yang dianggap terhormat oleh masyarakat Sakai. Sementara tari Olang-olang merupakan tarian ritual masyarakat Sakai yang bersumber dari ritual pengobatan badike. Tari Olang-olang ditemui di berbagai kelompok bathin yang terdapat pada Bathin Solapan. Materi gerak tarian ini terinspirasi dari gerak-gerak elang terbang. Elang dijadikan sebagai hewan utama dalam kepercayaan masyarakat Sakai yang mampu terbang tinggi mengantarkan doa dan mantra mereka kepada Tuhan pada saat pengobatan. The e-learning project at University Fernando Pessoa (UFP), started in early 2004 is briefly presented. The project current issues are introduced by providing a review of the terminology and the techniques more relevant from its early orientations. The main guidelines that were adopted for choosing an e-learning platform are listed as the authors defend that those early steps were crucial for the current project implementation. We present the overall approach that has been taken at UFP, together with the short and medium terms goals that we aim to achieve.

ÖZ: Apar adı, kaynaklarda Aparnoi veya Parni olarak zikredilmektedir. Bunların ise Sakaların bir kolu olarak Klasik Latin ve Hellen kaynaklarında zikredilen Da­hae’lerle bir alâkası olduğu anlaşılmaktadır. Herodo­tos’tan beri kaynaklarda farklı şekillerde bahsedilen Dahae’ler, M.Ö. IV. yüzyıldan itibaren Hazar Denizi ile daha doğudaki Oxus ırmağı arasına yerleşerek buradan sonraki dönemlerde daha batıya, Hazar’ın kuzey-doğu kıyı bölgesine yerleşmişler ve M.Ö. III. yüzyılın ikinci yarısında Parth Devleti’nin temelini oluşturmuşlardır. Ortaçağ’daki Dahistan veya Dihistan yer adının bun­lardan geldiği bilinmektedir. Orta-Asya’nın batısın­da ve İran’da Hellenistik bir krallık olan Parth Devleti’ni, aslında Arşak sülalesi kurmuştu. Kısa süre içerisinde İran’ın tamamını ve Türkiye’nin de Doğu ve Güney-Doğu Bölgesi’nin bir kısmını ele geçiren Parth’lar, batıda Roma İmparatorluğu’nun da en büyük rakiplerinden biri olmuşlardır. Devletlerini kurdukları bölge olan, Ortaçağ’daki adıyla Horasan Bölgesi, muhtemelen, onların uzak geçmişteki atalarından dolayı bu dönemde Aparşahr (Apar Ülkesi) olarak anılmıştır. Fakat Parth’lardan sonra M.S. V. yüzyılın başlarında Heftalit­ler, Orta-Asya’nın büyük kısmı, Kuzey Hindistan ve İran’ın doğu bölümlerini de içine alan büyük bir imparatorluk kurdular. Bunlar zamanında da bölgenin adı “Apar Ülkesi” idi. Türk ve Ermeni kaynaklarında “Apar” olarak zikredilen bu ismin, Çin kaynaklarında bazan Hua (< Awar/Abar/Apar) şeklinde zikredilen Heftalitler ile de bağlantısı olduğu anlaşılıyor.

ABSTRACT: The name Apar was recorded as Aparnoi or Parni in Classical sources. The Aparnoi were related to the Dahae mentioned in Classical sources as being a branch of the Sakas. The Dahae, being mentioned with different names in these sources from Herodotos onwards, settled from the IVth century B.C. onwards, in the area between the Caspian Sea and the Oxus and thence to the north-eastern corner of the Caspian. They founded in Persia the Parthian Dynasty in the second half of the IIIrd century B.C. The toponym Dahistan employed in the Middle Ages derived from their name. As a Hellenistic kingdom in the westernmost part of the Central Asia and in Persia, the Parthian Kingdom was founded by the Arsakid Dynasty. The Parthians conquered the entire Iranian plateau and some regions of the eastern and south-eastern parts of Turkey and became the most powerful rival of Rome before the Sasanians. The region of Khorasan, where the Parthians founded their own kingdom, was most probably named Aparshahr from their ancient name. After the Parthi­ans, the Hephthalites at the beginning of the Vth century A.D., established a great and vast empire including a great part of Central Asia, Northern India and some eastern parts of Iran. During the Hephthalite period the region carried a similar name until it was conquered by Khosraw I. The name mentioned as Apar in Turkic and Armenian sources also had a kind of relationship to the Hephthalites. It was considered their name was recorded as Hua (< Awar/Abar/Apar) in some of the Chinese sources.
