Revenue Generating Mechanism

Developed Western countries have been at the forefront of investment in blockchain technology, focusing on a slew of novel applications, like using a blockchain to track vegetables from the field to store shelves. But the greatest impact of blockchain technology will be in developing countries, such as China, Nigeria, the Philippines, Malaysia and Brazil.

Family businesses dominate the economic landscape of most countries of the world. According to family firm institute (2017), family firms account for two thirds of all businesses around the world, generate around 70-90% of annual global GDP, and create 50-80 percent of jobs in the majority of countries worldwide. It is important that these businesses grow and outperform global average. Similarly, business contributes significantly to economic growth and national development through creation, revenue generation and social economic development. There are different forms of business organizations such as a sole proprietorship, partnership, and corporation. These businesses can be publicly or privately owned. Some of the private businesses are started by people who are related either by blood, marriage or adoption, who has both the ability to influence the vision of the business and the willingness to use this ability to pursue distinctive goals. These businesses are sometimes referred to as family business. Given the importance of family owned businesses to economic and social development, their lack of long term survival and growth in Cross River State is a cause for concern. This study therefore will contribute to the growing stock of literature on the subject as it seeks to deliver on a more robust, yet simple understanding of the factors affecting the survival and growth of family-owned businesses. It is against the aforementioned backdrop that the internal and external factors affecting the survival and growth of family-owned businesses in Cross River State will be examined.

This project aims at analysing the ICT tools deployed by the Federal Inland Revenue Service (FIRS) in delivering taxpayer services to taxpayers with Abuja as study environment. Data collection was through self-administered questionnaires directed to a sample of 270 respondents who were basically either individual or corporate taxpayers within Abuja. Out of the 270 questionnaires dispatched for the study, 189 questionnaire were returned representing 70%, 29 were returned without input, while 52 questionnaire representing 19.26% were not returned.
Four features of the ICT tools for taxpayer service were the focus of the research to include Impact, Accessibility, Utility and Awareness. It was discovered that ICT tools are accessible to taxpayers and impactful on those that use them. However, low awareness has led deficiency in utilization of the tools. Hence it was concluded that the ICT tools deployed for taxpayer services by the FIRS are yet to be utilized to achieve the target goals. The following recommendations are made: Introduce taxpayer education on all existing ICT tools for the taxpayers with emphasis on SMS that will reach them on their mobile phones; FIRS to sensitise the general public on tax matters through media such as town hall meetings, fliers, pamphlets, radio and television; Establishing a functional contact centre where taxpayers can easily call for enquiries, report tax issues, get educated and resolve complaints, also to utilise the social media for taxpayer services.

This study is about revenue generation models of small digital media organizations, which only produce online journalism and do not have backing of large media organizations. This study was carried out by studying 8 small-sized digital news media organization each in India and United Kingdom (UK). Conclusions for this study were drawn from the responses of the eight small digital media organizations, insights provided by 3 experts and extracts from literature review. Based on its findings the study concluded that small individual donations are the best available revenue generation stream for digital news media organizations. Advertisements and use of paywalls do not work effectively to generate revenue for small digital media organizations. However, there is no fully sustainable revenue generation model for such organizations unless they are run as profit making businesses. This study recommends that small digital media organizations should develop financial sustainability strategies on how to cover their expenditures in the future to come.

A guy. Tho', more of a misanthrope, my verbal gregariousness led someone to say I should do what you described podcasters and their ilk doing. Then later in the same discussion forum, me and another were posting the merits and flaws of 15yr/30yr mortgages. That same guy said to this effect, 'Too bad this wasn't a podcast..'. A little later, I realized I had the recording microphone and chat.google.com by which I could've done that discussion. After that, I've been doing what I'm attempting here. Also, as well as me seeing that others on social media sites were getting shares and particularly 'Likes' of others' 2-cents of casual gesturing appreciation. A few had 10's of thousands of shares. At 2-cents per share, that would bring a few 100's of dollars for their admittedly not profound, but resonating thoughts. Combining those two observations has driven me to get every day Sam-n-Sally Slacker to have the opportunity to earn something from their daily slacking-off.

This paper investigates possible options for generating revenue in international unions.
The empirical evidence is found for three types of revenue-generating schemes:
contributions, direct taxes, and the combination of two. Discussion of peculiarities,
advantages and shortcomings of each scheme led to the conclusion that financial
needs, interstate heterogeneity, objectives and success of integration are the key factors
determining the choice of a revenue-generating scheme. There is no clear pattern in
the distribution of the schemes among different international unions. However, mixed
scheme becomes more preferable to ensure sustainable financing international unions.
Also, direct tax scheme would be the infant stage of a tax union that had no precedent in
the modern history of economic integration.

The government of Ghana has implemented extensive tax and non-tax policy and administration reforms over the years. Starting from 1983, these reforms have largely been carried out under the auspices of the IMF and the World Bank. However, using a sample of 35 countries in the developing world, we find in this paper that, relative to GDP, Ghana’s total public sector revenue has performed very poorly, compared with those of its peers, confirming findings of other studies. The government of Ghana has often blamed the country’s poor revenue performance on the difficulty in taxing the large informal sector, the generous tax exemption system, and the weak real property taxation. However, credible estimates of untapped revenues from the informal sector and the tax exemption system fall far short of the identified gaps in the total revenue to GDP ratios between Ghana and its peers. Additionally, we show in this paper that the country’s weak real property taxation is not a major cause of the gaps. After analyzing the government of Ghana’s (1) revenue from the entire extractive sector and comparing it with those of a sample of 21 economies in the developing world, and (2) revenues from the oil and mining subsectors and comparing them with the government of Nigeria’s revenue from the oil subsector and the government of Botswana’s revenue from the mining subsector respectively as case studies, we find the following: (a) the government of Ghana’s revenues from the extractive sector are extremely low, compared with those of its peers, and (b) the extractive sector is the main source of the country’s comparatively poor total revenue performance, which has led to the large gaps between Ghana and the peer countries in terms of total revenue to GDP ratio. Therefore, to be able to raise its total revenue to GDP ratio to the level of the peer countries and thus significantly cut down the rate of borrowing, reduce the huge debt service cost and create a sizable fiscal space to fund developmental projects, Ghana needs to sharply increase its revenue generation from the extractive sector to match the peer countries. We have provided a number of recommendations as to how this can be achieved, after identifying the main causes of the incredibly poor performance of the country’s extractive sector revenue.

Purpose: One of the intangible assets of clubs is the transfer of privileges, including licenses to establish football schools. The researcher aimed to identify and rank the factors affecting the power of the franchise assignment of clubs to develop football schools.
Methodology: The research was conducted in a mixed-method in two parts. Including quantitative and qualitative. The research sample consisted of 11 experts aware of football and sports industry issues. The research tools included library studies, interviews, and researcher-made questionnaires with six indicators and 33 sub-criteria provided to the research samples. Data analysis was performed by AHP and ANP tests in Supers Decision software version 3.2.
Findings: The results in AHP analysis showed that human resources, management, legal, software infrastructure, marketing, and economic indicators were the essential factors in enhancing the franchise power of clubs, respectively. Also, in ANP analysis, while determining the weight of sub-criteria and the relationships between the main criteria, the importance of human resources index, managerial expertise, marketing, software, legal and economic infrastructure were the factors influencing the promotion of club franchise power. Thus, human resources are considered the essential internal resource.
Originality: Few studies have been done on franchise rights in sports, specifically football clubs. A few studies have been done on how football schools franchising increases clubs' income. And from a micro and macro perspective, it has addressed the issue of managing the transfer of exploitation rights.

The JESSICA initiative introduced under the EU Cohesion Policy as revolving instrument, aimed at the regeneration processes and sustainable development of the cities. One of its main assumptions was to increase efficiency and effectiveness of the projects supported by JESSICA. The paper aims to identify whether all the projects implemented in Poland in the years 2007-2015 bring revenue and whether there is a relationship between the amount of the JESSICA loans/projects and the legal form of beneficiaries. The Polish case study based on the analysis of all the projects implemented in the five regions reveals that not all the projects bring revenues from their main operations. The legal form of a beneficiary plays also an important role with regard to the size of the loan/the value of the projects and determines a type of the results (economic, social) achieved by the projects. Thus, the recommendations for policy-makers responsible for the implementation of JESSICA 2 can be formulated


Streszczenie: JESSICA została zainicjowana przez Komisję Europejską wraz z Europejskim Bankiem Inwestycyjnym jako instrument finansowania zwrotnego mający wspomóc procesy rewitalizacji zdegradowanych obszarów miejskich. Jednym z jej podstawowych założeń było podniesienie skuteczności i efektywności wspieranych projektów. Głównym celem artykułu jest zweryfikowanie, czy projekty realizowane w Polsce w latach 2007-2015 generują przychody i czy istnieje zależność pomiędzy wartością pożyczki/projektu JESSICA a formą prawną beneficjentów projektów. Analiza, która objęła wszystkie projekty zrealizowane w pięciu polskich regionach, pozwala stwierdzić, że nie wszystkie projekty generują przychody z podstawowej działalności. Forma prawna beneficjentów ma znaczenie w odniesieniu do wartość pożyczki/projektu i wpływa na rodzaj osiąganych w projektach rezultatów (ekonomicznych, społecznych). Analiza pozwala na sformułowanie rekomendacji dla praktyki w zakresie wdrażania kolejnej generacji inicjatywy-JESSICA 2. Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs) are contributing to the economy in many ways such as; generation of new employment opportunities, the introduction of new business methods, products and services, and the elimination of the monopoly of large enterprises etc. There is no sign on a research which is discussing the impact of entrepreneurial orientation (EO) to the business performance in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) SMEs in Sri Lanka. Objective of this study was to identify the above relationship in order to give insight to policy makers and chairpersons on areas which should be focused for growth in SMEs.
In this research, literature from diverse authors and sources has been reviewed in order to find out gaps exist. After reviewing many previous studies, entrepreneurial orientation dimensions, business performance dimensions and control variables are identified. ICT SMEs listed in Export Development Board (EDB) is used as the sample and on-line questionnaire is distributed among them. Shapiro-Wilk normality test and Cronbach's alpha reliability test is performed to check the normality and reliability of data collected. Bivariate correlation test is performed to check whether control variables are correlated to each other, which can manipulate the result. Multiple linear regression analysis is performed to identify the relationship between EO dimensions and business performance.
Research outcome suggests that Risk propensity is impacting negatively on revenue growth, employee recruitment, employee turnover and market share growth while Innovativeness is impacting positively on revenue growth, employee recruitment growth, return on assets and market share growth. Pro-activeness is impacting only on return on assets growth and market share growth and the relationship is identified as positive.
