PUBLIC RELATION

The aim of the paper is to analyze the main on line communication issues for Italian universities and the institutionalization of communication they have attained. In fact, much research and numerous empirical studies have shown that Italian universities have changed their form of communication to a more institutionalized one over the last 10 years. This has been the result of both internal elements coming from the university system (for example the reform of didactic ordinances, the evolution of organizational and governing models) and external ones (including globalisation, the strong impact of digital media and cultural consumption).
To meet the challenge it would be necessary to build different relations with new targets unlike the classical academic ones (professors, researchers and students) such as territorial institutions, foreign interests, firms and media, in order to create institutionalized relationships. For this reason new tools have been created by Italian universities and between them web sites
have become one of the most important elements of the communication mix. To realize this study, after a review of the literature on the specific subject (section 2), quantitative and qualitative research was done using the four main internet search engines (Google.com, Yahoo.com, Virgilio.it and
Msn.com). The study of university home pages visibility, their positioning, communication tools and structures and the on line visibility of the institutionalization of communication achieved by colleges, are presented together with the methodology used in section 3. Results are shown and partially discussed in section 4, before conclusions (section 5).

W niniejszym artykule poruszona została problematyka związana z promotion mix w odniesieniu do strategii promocji miasta. Na wstępie scharakteryzowane zostały teoretyczne aspekty promotion mix oraz zaprezentowane zostało jego umiejscowienie w klasycznej kompozycji marketingowej. Następnie, przedstawiono podstawowy zestaw elementów promotion mix, rozpisany na poszczególne narzędzia,  dla Szklarskiej Poręby wykorzystany w strategii promocji tego miasta. Z uwagi na uniwersalny charakter większości wyszczególnionych elementów, mogą one zostać wykorzystane w przypadku działań promocyjnych innych miast. Zaprezentowano również przykładowe wady i zalety promotion mix, które mogą okazać się istotne w kontekście stosowania tej kompozycji środków w strategii promocji miasta.

Public relations in Indonesia still often perceived as female profession and suited for women so then this profession is slow down and degradation.  Gender is became a host issues in this problem. The study of gendered issues in public relations have concducted by reseacher from the part of the world have already showed inequality gender phenomenon. This research tries to disscuss gender study in the domain of public relations in Indonesia with literarure review data collecting. The Results show that gender issues in public relations profession have to keep  monitored because it has already demonstrated discrmination gender and degrated to the public relations profession.Many parties that responded to the gender problems because of just the different perception but the development of  public relations profession also is influenced by the structure national culture, type and field of industry and bussiness needs.      Keywords: Gender, Profession, Public Relations, Jakarta, Issues  

Using quantitative method that will be collected from local government officials from a highly urbanized city of Batangas, the purpose of this study is to examined the extent of media consumption amongst local government units and addresses how mass media are used as government public relations to serve the constituents. The result of this study will indicate that social media is utilized in the local government units such as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, YouTube and Google for feedback on the quality of service rendered in reaching out the constituents. The social media tools will determine the commonly used media tools, research, monitoring and collaborative tools for government information which is relevant in public office. The media platform convergence used in government public relations will be considered in the conclusion and recommendation in this study.

ABSTRAK

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengetahui strategi Public Relations dalam perusahaan untuk meningkatkan citra perusahaan melalui kegiatan Media Relations. Pendekatan penelitian yang dilakukan adalah kualitatif. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah Studi Kasus. Teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan riset media dan in-depth interview kepada seorang Public Relations Manager Hotel Neo+ Awana Yogyakarta. Dari hasil penelitian ini ditemukan bahwa strategi dan program Public Relations Hotel Neo+ Awana Yogyakarta dirancang sendiri oleh seorang Public Relations Manager, termasuk juga kegiatan Media Relations. Untuk kegiatan Media Relations, perusahaan terfokus pada peningkatan Corporate Branding dan Product Branding yang bertujuan untuk meningkatkan Brand Awareness dan citra perusahaan di mata publik. Sedangkan untuk sasaran publikasi, manajemen menyesuaikan dengan segmen publik yang menjadi target dari Hotel Neo+ Awana Yogyakarta, artinya manajemen dalam hal ini Public Relations Manager dari Hotel Neo+ Awana Yogyakarta telah melakukan Media Mapping sebelum melakukan publikasi melalui media.

The green marketing includes more than just a simple building of corporate image. It becomes a modern mean of the enforcement of actual environmental trends to a broad spectrum of business activities. The field of action of green marketing tools is relatively extensive, starting with the protection of environment, production and sale of products and services with ecological conditions and requirements, through the final consumption of environmentally friendly products, which affects the quality of life and health of the whole society. The paper in brief presents the results of the marketing survey that was focused on finding how chosen Slovak companies applied principles of green marketing and used green marketing tools within their business activities, if ever. Nowadays, concepts such as green marketing, green business and ecological product appear more frequently particularly with regard to communication of companies. For these reasons, the aim of the survey was to determine the extent to which the principles of green marketing are implemented in selected business entities in the Slovak Republic.

Целью статьи является исследование проблем, связанных с внедрением финтеха в бюджетные отношения, и поиск их решений в сфере правового регулирования указанных отношений. Исследование построено на применении анализа, синтеза, сравнения, материалистического, логического и формально-юридического методов. Основными результатами работы стали рекомендации по совершенствованию правового регулирования в части структуризации нормативных правовых актов, регулирующих использование финтеха в бюджетных отношениях, повышения открытости бюджетных отношений с помощью финансовых технологий и обеспечения высокого качества данных технологий.

AN EVALUATION OF MODERATORS’ PERFORMANCE AND PERCEPTIONS ON COVERAGE OF ISSUES IN 2013 PRESIDENTIAL DEBATE IN KENYA BY CITIZEN TELEVISION

ABSTRACT
This study evaluated performance of moderators and perceptions on coverage of issues in 2013 presidential debate in Kenya. A consortium of major media houses in Kenya organized the 2013 televised presidential debate as an avenue for  evaluation  of presidential candidates by the voters to enable them have  a deeper understanding of each political contestant’s  knowledge on various issues and characters hence making a meaningful decision in March 4,  2013 general election. However, moderators received criticism for their performance and coverage of issues in 2013 presidential debate. The critics claimed that the debate was unbalanced and unfair. That the moderators focused on a few key issues facing Kenyans and the candidates were not given adequate opportunities to be assessed on the more pressing issues. Specific objectives of the study were: to assess the performance of moderators in the 2013 presidential debate in Kenya, to ascertain the extent to which political scandals were covered with regard to each presidential aspirant and to analyze the perceptions of viewers on coverage of issues in the 2013 presidential debate in Kenya. This study was guided by Agenda Setting theory by Mc combs & Shaw (1972) which postulate that mass media have the ability to transfer their salient issues on their news agenda to the public. The researcher used analytical research design. The population of study is journalists who were moderators in 2013 Kenyan presidential debate that was aired by Citizen Television and communication and journalism students who were drawn from Daystar University. The study used mixed sampling; Saturation and simple random sampling. Saturation sampling justifies the study of all elements. All four moderators who oversee debate were study and ten participants in FGD. Both quantitative and qualitative methods were used to collect data.Data was also analyzed by both quantitative and qualitative methods and presented in percentages and frequencies with assistance of SPSS computer software programme and narrative form respectively. The study found that Presidential candidates and issues received varied attention from the moderators. The moderator subjected candidates significantly on the same questions to stimulate variance among the candidates. The moderators held candidates accountable to their remarks and highlighted the truth. However it was minimal. The moderators did not manage to give candidates strictly two minutes to present their policies on issues as stated. The same level of scrutiny of scandals basing on the magnitude was not applied to all candidates. Moderators gave more coverage to scandals they consider to be very critical. The debates addressed national issues that most concern citizens. Variation in coverage of issues, scandals and attention accorded to candidates indicated that television coverage of 2013 presidential debate in Kenya to certain extent was unbalanced. The outcome of this study may benefit the presidential debate steering committee as it highlights the strength and weakness of moderation of the 2013 presidential debate in Kenya that can be based on to improve future presidential debates. It can be instrumental to the researchers and academicians in the view of the fact that it will provoke more intellectual research in the findings. Furthermore, it is hoped that this study will enrich the body of knowledge as well as addressing the main shortfalls in existing literature on the moderation and issues coverage of the presidential debates.

The main problem of the study is the effects of working conditions on employee productivity. These conditions may include the workplace environment which may not be conducive at times. The researcher will undertake this topic so as to help the management to know what kind of environment the employees prefer to work in. This study is limited as it will only be focused on the hotel environment. The critical issues in the literature review are employee productivity, flexible working conditions, and employee reward method. The questionnaires will be personal administered.

This study examined whether corporate public agenda setting or corporate agenda building exerts a stronger influence on firms’ public prominence. After controlling for the effects of firms’ advertising expenditures and existing levels of prominence, results showed that in the absence of media salience, firms’ public agenda-setting efforts had no influence on their change in prominence. In the presence of media salience, however, firms’ public agenda-setting efforts had a negative influence on their change in prominence. In the context of public prominence, the study supports the news media's role as a third-party endorsement of firms as newsworthy entities. Future research should re-examine these relationships in the age of social media.
