De l’interprétation chrétienne multiséculaire selon laquelle les juifs n’ayant pas reconnu le Christ de Dieu venu dans la chair en la personne de Jésus, Dieu s’est constitué un « nouveau peuple »  assimilé plus ou moins explicitement à l’Église, découle la conviction chrétienne incoercible que, pour être agréables à Dieu, voire pour être sauvés, les juifs doivent être incorporés à cette Église par la foi au Christ. De longs siècles d’un enseignement patristique et ecclésial coulé en formules invariables dans une tradition liturgique immuable, dont est nourrie la foi des fidèles, ont conféré à ce «narratif» théologique le statut d’un credo quasi dogmatique.
Toutefois, l'auteur croit devoir obéir au dictamen de sa conscience, qui le pousse à affirmer sa foi dans le rétablissement, déjà réalisé, du peuple juif.

A full length study comparing and contrasting Scotus to Newman. Most fans of Newman do not consider his brief though approving remarks on Scotus. If he explicitly agreed with Scotus on points, what were they and why? The paper seeks to show those areas of harmony and similitude of observation in areas such as cognition and the proofs for the existence of God as well as the primacy of the Incarnation. The paper is sensitive to differences of terminology and approach to the same objects of study in two very different English contexts and universitarian language.

This is an announcement about a spring 2020 course on St. John Henry Newman I'll be teaching online for the University of St. Thomas Catholic Studies MA program. This course will treat most of the major topics in Newman, including his spirituality, conversion, theory of the development of doctrine, theory of higher education, ecclesiology, and doctrine of conscience. Annual Conference of the Irish Philosophical Society: John Henry Newman and Philosophy
University College Dublin, 6th and 7th November 2015

This conference will explore the connections between John Henry Newman (1801-1890) and philosophy. Newman wrote on faith and reason, on the development of ideas, liberal knowledge, conscience, belief, and on being a loyal citizen. Can he be read as a philosopher? How was he influenced by philosophy? What are his contributions to philosophical debates? What was his impact on the philosophers of his day and beyond? How relevant is he today?
