Education plays a very important and an energetic role in the growth and improvement of any country. Higher education is considered as an important appliance for conveying about social, economic, political and technical development for a developing country such as India. The higher education institutions certifies quality of the educational procedure with the help of the accreditation organizations and the libraries are also perform a very vital part in bringing out the vision of higher education. In regard to giving services libraries face the changing environment and information needs of the users. This paper will highlight the guideline communicated by NAAC for affiliated or autonomous universities libraries in the attention of best exercise. The paper also focus on the management of the library and involvement through various activities and practices in libraries can be adopted in NAAC assessment. Descriptive methodology is used for this paper. Objective of the paper are significance and awareness about best practices. The paper also highlights the role of Library in diverse measure of NAAC assessment, significance of best practices, guidelines of NAAC in best practices.

Assessment and Accreditation are broadly used for understanding the “Quality Status” of an institution. In the context of Higher Education, the accreditation status indicates that the particular Higher Educational Institutions, or any other recognized Unit therein, meets the standards of quality as set by the Accreditation Agency, in terms of its performance, related to the educational processes and outcomes, covering the curriculum, teaching-learning, evaluation, faculty, research, infrastructure, learning resources, organization, governance, financial well being and student services. With this view, the exercise of GLOBAL ACADEMIC ACCREDITATION CONSORTIUM (GAAC) is being carried out in India by Grand Academic Portal to facilitate awareness among colleges in the country about processes and systems that can ensure quality enhancement and realization of goals set in higher education. This is a unique initiative by Grand Academic Portal to promote excellence in the field of education. Nowhere in the country has such an exercise being carried out.

Sarojini Naidu Government Girls Post Graduate (Autonomous) College, popularly known as Nutan College, with a brilliant record of 46 years, has been an exemplar of creativity and quality sustenance. Owing to its excellence in curricular, co-curricular and extra-curricular activities, the College stands tall among equals. Acclaimed as one of the best institutes of the state, the College fetched autonomy by UGC and Government of M.P. in 1995-96. Since then, it has made a phenomenal progress in all academic and allied pursuits.
