All’interno delle oltre 160 composizioni strumentali albinoniane autentiche, i concerti per/con strumento solista (violino e/o oboe) e orchestra rappresentano oltre un terzo dell’intera produzione. Cinquantaquattro di questi concerti vennero pubblicati in raccolte a stampa tra il 1700 ed il 1735/36 (opp. 2, 5, 7, 9, 10), mentre soltanto cinque lavori senza numero d’opus sono stati tràditi in forma indipendente e manoscritta (a stampa, nel caso di un solo concerto). Le Sinfonie RV 122, 135 e 162 di Vivaldi sono pervenute unicamente tramite parti staccate manoscritte, conservate a Dresda, compilate dai copisti designati come ‘A’ e ‘D’, da un ulteriore copista non identificato (‘?’), e dallo stesso Pisendel: le fonti includono «parti non autentiche per fiati» (flauti, oboi, corni, fagotto). L’edizione Ricordi di tutte le opere strumentali vivaldiane ha pubblicato nel 1962 le tre composizioni, all’interno del gruppo dei “Concerti per complessi vari” (F. The second part of this  study  focuses on the historical value of the  musical items catalogued in the first part  so as to  enlighten  the  special  position  that the Doria Pamphilj  family has always occupied,  thanks to its cultural distinction, in  the  Roman aristocracy.

Attraverso alcuni inventari quattrocenteschi dei codici liturgico musicali della basilica benedettina di San Giovanni evangelista in Ravenna, data in commenda al cardinal Bessarione dal 1442 al 1459, si è proceduto all'identificazione di un salterio, oggi conservato nella Biblioteca Classense, confezionato nel Trecento per i monaci camaldolesi ma posseduto dall'abbazia benedettina durante la gestione commendataria bessarionea.

By means of some fifteenth-century inventories of the liturgical-musical codes of the Benedictine Basilica of St. John the Evangelist in Ravenna, given in commendation to Cardinal Bessarion from 1442 to 1459, we have identified a psaltery, now kept in the Classense Library, made in the fourteenth century for the Camaldolese monks but owned by the Benedictine abbey during Bessarion's commendatory administration.

The unpublished text uploaded below deals with  a  well known collection of keyboard tablatures of the 17th century  housed  in the Vatican Library, focusing  on  the unimaginable  circumstances of their acquisition on the part of  Chigi family in the 1660s.  Details of  the documentary and musical sources used  for the preparation of the talk  can be found in  its  expanded version, that the author  has  subsequently published  as  'Musical autographs of Frescobaldi and his entourage in Roman sources’. And the same may be said for  the  archival research in the 17th-century section of the Chigi musical archive in the Vatican Library,  hinted at by him  as still in  progress,    whose  results  he has  subsequently  presented  in the article  ‘Palestrina and Frescobaldi: discovering a missing link’.

The paper  uploaded here is  the first part of a  study concerning the  musical collection assembled between the 16 and the 19 centuries  by  the  Doria Pamphilj family,  and  housed in the  Roman  palace where they still  dwell.  It includes  a  synthetic catalogue of almost three hundred  items  that, a part from its bibliographical interest,  is the  basis of the  discussion of  the collection  from the historical viewpoint  which the  second  part of the study  focuses on.

Giovanni Crisostomo Trombelli (1697-1784) was an interpreter of the scientific and academic impulses of the Age of Enlightenment. As a man of the 18th century, he ventured into many fields of knowledge, one of which was collecting antiquities. His focus was on books, manuscripts, medals as well as medieval liturgical and liturgical-musical manuscripts, including a large group from Brescia. The activity of the collector Trombelli was aimed at enriching the heritage of the library of the congregation of canons regular of the Holy Saviour in Bologna, to which he belonged. Following the suppression of the religious orders, the collection of codices became part of the manuscript collection of the University Library fo Bologna.

Giovanni Crisostomo Trombelli (1697-1784) fu un interprete degli impulsi scientifici ed accademici dell'età dei lumi. Il suo essere uomo del Settecento lo portò a cimentarsi in molti campi del sapere, tra cui va senz'altro annoverato il collezionismo di antichità. La sua attenzione era rivolta a libri, manoscritti, medaglie nonché manoscritti liturgici e liturgico-musicali medievali tra i quali si segnala un consistente gruppo di provenienza bresciana. L'attività del collezionista Trombelli era finalizzata all'arricchimento del patrimonio della biblioteca della congregazione dei canonici regolari renani del SS. Salvatore in Bologna, di cui egli faceva parte. In seguito alle soppressioni degli ordini religiosi, la collezione dei codici confluì nel fondo manoscritto della Biblioteca universitaria cittadina.

Πρόκειται για ένα σπάνιο μουσικό χειρόγραφο κώδικα της εποχής του "Νεοελληνικού Διαφωτισμού" (1770-1820) που περιέχει μεγάλο αριθμό αστικών ασμάτων της εποχής στην εκκλησιαστική σημειογραφία. Ο κώδικας αποτελείται από δύο διαφορετικά σώματα (γραφείς), ο ένας από τους οποίους φαίνεται να είναι ο Νικηφόρος Καντουνιάρης (συντάκτης της λίγο μεταγενέστερης ομοειδούς ανθολογίας "Μελπομένη"). Ο συγγραφέας του παρόντος επαναφέρει την αρχική σειρά των ασμάτων, με βάση παλαιότερους κώδικες.
This article concerns one of the rare musical codices from the period of the so-called "Neo-Hellenic Enlightenment" (1770-1820) held today in the Centre of Asia Minor Studies, Athens. The codex includes a large number of Greek urban songs written in the Church notation of the time. It consists of two different parts (scribes), one of which is revealed to have been compiled by the Archdeacon, Nikiphoros Kantouniaris of Chios, author of a later musical anthology (Melpomene). The author of the article attempts to reconstruct the original order of the songs, in comparison with older anthologies of this genre.

Le but de l’ouvrage est de mettre en lumière certains aspects du rôle multimodal qu’a joué le livre depuis l’antiquité jusqu’à aujourd’hui. Autrement dit, ce volume se concentre sur le livre en tant qu’objet patrimonial, objet rituel, vecteur de connaissance, document historique, lieu d’interaction entre texte et image, entre patrimoine matériel et patrimoine immatériel, où les révolutions technologiques rencontrent les courants historiques, théologiques et artistiques, mais aussi en tant que source perpétuelle d’inspiration pour la création artistique.

Despite it being physically inaccessible, musicians, and musicologists are well aware of the Carlo G MS. This article examines its contents, in particular the texts, in order to offer more solid hypotheses concerning its provenance, compiler, and dating. The proposed origin of the manuscript is in Bologna, in the context of some important convents. The hitherto unidentified “Carlo Gra…”, the compiler and main author, may be the Bolognese nobleman Carlo Grati. As for the dating, the manuscript may have been compiled in the 1610s or 1620s.

Em 12 de julho de 2014, Alexandre Marcos Lourenço Barbosa lançou a proposta de criação de um Museu da Música do Vale do Paraíba (MMVP), durante as discussões da sessão de encerramento do XXVIII Simpósio de História do Vale do Paraíba, promovido em Cunha pelo Instituto de Estudos Valeparaibanos (IEV), cujo tema era, justamente, “Música no Vale do Paraíba”. A ideia nasceu da necessidade de uma instituição que pudesse tratar, custodiar, conservar e viabilizar a pesquisa de arquivos e coleções musicais do Vale do Paraíba ou a ele relacionados, além de centralizar informações, bibliografia, catálogos e bancos de dados sobre acervos musicais de outras regiões brasileiras, porém relacionados à história e à prática musical do Vale do Paraíba, desde o século XVIII ao presente. Participaram, no entanto, dessa proposta de criação do Museu da Música do Vale do Paraíba alguns outros fatos importantes ocorridos a partir desse ano de 2014, especialmente o reencontro, em Pindamonhangaba, do arquivo musical de João Antônio Romão (1878-1972), a criação do Laboratório de Conservação, Arquivologia e Edição Musical da UNESP (Labor Carmine) em 15 de dezembro de 2014, e a atuação do Núcleo de Musicologia Social do Instituto de Artes da UNESP (NOMOS) - responsável pela criação do Labor Carmine - no tratamento do arquivo musical da família Lorena, da cidade de Aparecida, constituído de obras de Raldolpho José Lorena (1843-1913), José Raldolpho Lorena (1876-1961), Maria Annunciação Lorena Barbosa (1907-1996) e outros. O Labor Carmine, fundado no campus de São Paulo da UNESP, será instalado, estruturado e equipado durante todo o ano de 2015, mas os pesquisadores nele envolvidos já estão trabalhando no arquivo musical de João Antônio Romão, com a colaboração da família Romão em Pindamonhangaba, e no arquivo musical da família Lorena, em Aparecida. O objetivo do Labor Carmine é receber provisoriamente e tratar (em São Paulo ou em suas cidades de origem, dependendo de cada situação) arquivos e coleções musicais históricas (o que inclui sua higienização e desinfecção, organização, arranjo físico, acondicionamento, catalogação e digitalização) para devolve-los em segurança às suas instituições custodiadoras, ou mesmo para intermediar sua doação ou transferência para instituições do gênero, quando for o caso. Por essa razão, o jornal O Lince e o Labor Carmine uniram-se, em fins de 2014, juntamente com outros colegas de Aparecida, para estudar as bases de criação do Museu da Música do Vale do Paraíba nesta mesma cidade, que já se encontra virtualmente em funcionamento, por meio do tratamento dos referidos arquivos musicais.

Исследование нотной записи на портрете неизвестного музыканта из собрания Московского дворца-усадьбы “Останкино”», осуществленное нами совместно с П. Г. Сербиным, позволило выявить в зарубежных музыкальных архивах уникальные рукописные источники, содержащие обработки записанной на картине мелодии для различных инструментов. И хотя личность изображенного на портрете пока не может быть установлена окончательно, новые сведения позволяют высказать предположения о происхождении загадочного портрета и до некоторой степени уточнить круг лиц, которые могли выступать в качестве портретируемых. Статья представляет собой дополненный вариант текста, первоначально опубликованного в сборнике "Мольберт Эвтерпы" (С. 148-157).

Review of the monography by Joaquim Garrigosa on the medieval musical manuscripts in Catalonia, dating up to the 13th century, published by the Local Studies Institute from Lleida.

Reseña o recensión de la monografía de Joaquim Garrigosa, a propósito de los manuscritos medievales en Cataluña anteriores al siglo XIII, publicada por el Instituto de Estudios de Lleida, en un título que recuerda al célebre estudio de Higinio Anglés. Di Carlo Donato Cossoni (1623-1700) sono conservate diverse migliaia di pagine autografe. Questa eccezionale circostanza rappresenta il punto di partenza di questo catalogo, pensato come uno strumento per studiare più a fondo i contesti nei quali il musicista è stato attivo: in particolare, la cappella del Duomo di Como, quella di S. Petronio a Bologna, quella del Duomo di Milano.

Na edição de março/abril de 2014 de O Lince, publiquei o artigo “O desaparecimento do mais antigo arquivo musical de Pindamonhangaba”, a pedido do seu editor, Alexandre Barbosa, que convidou-me a escrevê-lo, na esperança de que a divulgação da notícia revelasse pistas sobre a localização desse que foi o arquivo musical de João Antônio Romão, de acordo com a reportagem de Luiz Ellmerich, publicada no Diário de S. Paulo em 1975, encontrada em um recorte no Museu da Música de Mariana-MG, em janeiro de 2014. E a profética expectativa de Barbo-sa cumpriu-se de forma quase instantânea, apontando para um caminho que vale a pena desenvolver em novas pesquisas: no exato dia em que as matérias desse número entraram online, recebi o contato, por e-mail, de Marcelo Romão (bisneto de João Antônio Romão), informando que o acervo encontrava-se sob a guarda da família e que estava à disposição para consulta!
