Most studies on motivation and translanguaging have focused on learning Global English. This has led to a call for more research into how this lingua franca influences attitudes to languages other than English. We describe Japanese undergraduates who studied English and Chinese in Taiwan during an 11-month study abroad programme. Following a survey of their translanguaging practices in Japanese (L1), English (L2) and Chinese (L3), we interviewed them to explore motivations underlying their language choices. Extending beyond Dörnyei’s L2 motivational self system, we used Henry’s multilingual self analytical framework. Results indicated that, rather than striving for ideal multilingual selves or settling for contentedly bilingual selves, participants had actual multilingual selves in response to immediate needs and interests. One participant had a contentedly trilingual self period where he could use his three languages socially while delaying further formal study. The other participant focused on his L3 due to intrinsic motivation derived from its proximity to his L1.

This annotated bibliography is intended to provide WPAs with an overview of scholarship and debate on two related issues: 1) the global spread and, consequently, differentiation of English into world Englishes; and 2) more general perspectives on language difference. Insofar as there is growing linguistic heterogeneity both among the population of students enrolling in composition curricula and among the readers, including faculty, for whom these students write, it’s imperative that composition curricula and composition teaching and courses be designed to acknowledge and make productive use of this changed linguistic landscape.

Dans cet article, j’explique comment les pratiques langagières « hybrides » permettent aux enfants d’exploiter le maximum de leur répertoire linguistique pour répondre aux exigences sociales et interactives du milieu scolaire. (Axelrod in Early Child Educ J, p 1–8, 2014). Ma démonstration s’appuiera sur le cas exceptionnel de l’École maternelle Gabriel Sajus2 et de sa classe bilingue LSF3-français, qui mettent en question les principes traditionnels progressistes d’une inclusion qui, dans les faits, sépare les enfants sourds de leurs pairs. Les modèles d’inclusion actuels (prétendument progressistes) isolent les élèves sourds en les plaçant dans une classe traditionnelle avec des adultes et camarades non sourds. L’École Sajus et sa classe signante nous donnent matière à repenser l’inclusion dans les classes de cycle 1 en ce sens qu’elle nous pousse à envisager le potentiel « inclusif » d’espaces linguistiques hybrides pour les élèves bilingues.

    وقد تضمن هذا العدد خمسة و عشرون بحثاً متنوعاً من ناحية الموضوعات ومن ناحية الجهات الناشرة ومن ناحية لغات النشر. فمن ناحية الموضوعات ضم العدد أبحاثا تاريخية تناولت التطور السياسي و العسكري للجيش في الجزائر خلال الفترة العثمانية ، وعرض أخر موضوع فهرسة مخطوطات المكتبة الوطنية الجزائرية و أبحاث أخرى ركزت الحديث على الزيارات والبعثات العلمية بين ضفتي المتوسط و قارن باحث أخر في موضوع  الرحلات الجزائرية إلى بلاد الحرمين من خلال رحلتي البجائي والورثلاني. كما درس بحث المنهج الإصلاحي في فكر الشيخ بن يوسف  أطفيش  (القطب) ، و تطرقت دراسات جديدة بالدرس و التحليل  مقاومة الأمير عبد القادر في سعيدة  المنطقة والرجال ودورهما في دعم المقاومة و مدينة نفطة خلال العصر الوسيط التاريخ والعمران والمعالم.كما أطرت المجلة أبحاث من الأهمية بمكان مثل: مدينة القدس ومعالمها الدينية و الحضارية على ضوء كتابات الرحلة الأندلسية خلال القرن 8هـ/14م،و المفاوضات الجزائرية الفرنسية  1960-1962، و الــدور الجوهري لبعض مشـايخ الزيتونــة في تفعيل مقـاصد الشــريعة إبّـان فترة الاحتلال الفرنسي و بيبليوغرافيا الشّيخ محمّد المكّي بن عزّوز.
    و في مجال القانون و الاقتصاد و علم الاجتماع السياسي و الفقه الإسلامي، قدمت أبحاث مواضيع متنوعة و متميزة  في مسألة تثمير أموال الزكاة بين الالتزام بالنصوص والمصالح المرسلة إلى دور تكنولوجيا المعلومات و الاتصال في تطوير أدوات معالجة المعلومات. وتضمن العدد بحوث في الدخل الشهري وتأثيره على خصائص المسكن في مدينة بيت لحم -الضفة الغربية-فلسطين- دراسة في الجغرافية الاقتصادية التطبيقية،  و بحوث  في خروج بريطانيا من الاتحاد الأوروبي وتأثيره على مستقبل الوحدة الأوروبية مقاربة واقعية، وقدمت ثلة من الباحثين مواضيع في خصائص الاستشراق الأمريكي المتجدد و سوسيولوجيا العلاقات الدولية مقاربة في فهم التفاعلات بين الدول ،و الجرائم الإلكترونية في ضوء التشريع الجزائري  . ومن ناحية الجهات الناشرة فقد تنوعت الجهات بين الجزائر وتونس وفلسطين. أما بالنسبة للغات فقد تضمن العدد أبحاثا باللغة الفرنسية انصبت مواضيعها في التاريخ.
  ‏إن هيئة تحرير مجلة الحوار المتوسطي تحرص على استمرار سياستها في السعي إلى أن تبقى مجلة رائدة على المستوى المحلي والإقليمي، وأن تصبح مصنفة ضمن أشهر ‏القواعد العالمية. من خلال بوابتها الفردية ،وتعمل على تحقيق شروط ‏الإدراج في تصنيف قواعد البيانات العالمية مثل المعرفة بالأردن و المنظومة بالمملكة العربية السعودية و(DOAJ) و قاعدة(Bielefeld)
و (Rootindexing)و (Directory of Research Journals Indexing)  والتي من بينها التنوع بكافة أشكاله في المجلة.
