This paper will build on ballistic missile defense in Europe. In the first part, a brief historical overview will place the current public management issue into light. This is followed by a discussion of the main actors in the international debate, the problems that arise and the available options and recommendations to address missile defense. In the second part, differences between George W. Bush and Barack H. Obama will analyze under the title “Ballistic Missile Defense in Europe: Evolving Problems during Change in Presidential Administration"

BALLISTIC MISSILE DEFENCE – TECHNOLOGY, EFFECTIVENESS AND ORGANIZATION – KEY ISSUES The article serves as an introduction to the set of papers that are devoted to the issue of ballistic missile defence as seen from the Polish perspective. It therefore refers in the most general terms to the key problems of the technology and the organization of missile defence. First of all, ballistic missiles and their strategic roles are considered as it is necessary to understand the threat before the defence against it is analyzed. Secondly, the nature of the ballistic missile defence is described, together with extensive reflections on its effectiveness. Further on the paper depicts in short missile defence systems of the world with the special attention to the United States.

This project is to design and construct automatic missile detection and destroying system. The system is designed to detect the target (missile) moving in multiple directions. The destroying system moves automatically in the direction of missile and fires it upon fixing the target. This system consists of a SONAR based object tracking system that continuously monitors the target. Upon detecting the target it sends the target's location to a Central Control System. The Central Control System takes the action of moving the firing mechanism in the direction of target missile . Upon fixing the direction, it sends the control command to firing system to attack the target. This project is divided in three part RF Transmitter, RF Receiver, and microcontroller.

The problem of shooting targets in the air is rather complex task, in which every missile system for air defence is responsible for fire control. In this paper we present a novel approach and mode for fire control in air-defence systems based on homing missiles. A device for calculation of the launching zone (AOZ) is used for intelligent estimation whether the target has entered the launching zone. The proposed novel approach makes essential use a fuzzy reasoning, a fuzzy-rule knowledge base for target’s velocity, to calculate the launching zone immediately upon the first detection of a target. Namely, it uses pre-defined launching zones for different flying regimes and different velocities of potential targets, and the data are stored into a look-up table along with the associated pass angles and flying times to the launching zone border.
