A strategy for adaptive control and energetic optimization of aerobic fermentors was implemented, with both air flow and agitation speed as manipulated variables. This strategy is separable in its components: control, optimization, estimation. We optimized parameter’s estimation (from the usual KLa correlation) using sinusoidal excitation of air flow and agitation speed. We have implemented parameter’s estimation trough recursive least squares algorithm with forgetting factor. We carried separate essays on control, optimization and estimation algorithms. We carried our essays using an original computational simulation environment, with noise and delay generating facilities for data sampling and filtering.

Our results show the convergence and robustness of the estimation algorithm used, improved with use of both forgetting factor and KLa dead-band facilities. Control algorithm used in our work compares favorably with PID using the integrated area criteria for deviation between oxygen molarity and critical molarity (set point). Optimization algorithm clearly reduces energetic consumption, respecting critical molarity. Integration of control, optimization and adaptive algorithms was implemented, but future work is needed for stability. Methods were defined and implemented for stability improvement. We have implemented data acquisition and computer manipulation of air flow and agitation speed for actual fermentors.

This paper introduces 5G-CLARITY, a 5G-PPP project exploring beyond 5G private networks integrating heterogeneous wireless access including 5GNR, WiFi, and LiFi. The project targets enhancements to current 5GNR performance including multi-connectivity and indoor positioning accuracy. It also develops novel management enablers that allow to operate the private network with a high level intent interface, while being able to natively embed Machine Learning (ML) functions.

This study assesses the attitudes and perceptions regarding prenatal screening and induced abortion among Pakistani adults.MethodsWe conducted a cross-sectional study among adults (18+) coming to the Aga Khan University Hospital, a private tertiary care hospital in Karachi, Pakistan.We conducted a cross-sectional study among adults (18+) coming to the Aga Khan University Hospital, a private tertiary care hospital in Karachi, Pakistan.ResultsMajority (65%) of the study population had knowledge about prenatal screening and it was acceptable to most (85.5%) of them. Significant proportion had high acceptance for induced abortion (23%) of a fetus that has serious congenital anomalies. On the other hand, 15% were unwilling to consider termination of pregnancy (TOP) in any circumstances. Women had more favorable attitude toward induced abortion. Most of the respondents (63%) were in favor of abortion if fetal death was imminent as a result of a congenital abnormality. Majority wanted mutual consultation of husband and wife for making decision regarding induced abortion (84%).Majority (65%) of the study population had knowledge about prenatal screening and it was acceptable to most (85.5%) of them. The article deals with the problem of learning incrementally (‘on-line’) in domains where the target concepts are context-dependent, so that changes in context can produce more or less radical changes in the associated concepts. In particular, we concentrate on a class of learning tasks where the domain provides explicit clues as to the current context (e.g., attributes with characteristic values).

At this present scenario, the demand of the system capacity is very high in wireless network. MIMO technology is used from the last decade to provide this requirement for wireless network antenna technology. MIMO channels are mostly used for advanced antenna array technology. But it is most important to control the error rate with enhanced system capacity in MIMO for present-day progressive wireless communication. This paper explores the frame error rate with respect to different path gain of MIMO channel. This work has been done in different fading scenario and produces a comparative analysis of MIMO on the basis of those fading models in various conditions. Here, it is to be considered that modulation technique as QPSK to observe these comparative evaluations for different Doppler frequencies. From the comparative analysis, minimum amount of frame error rate is viewed for Rician distribution at LOS path Doppler shift of 0 Hz. At last, this work is concluded with a comparative bit error rate study on the basis of singular parameters at different SNR levels to produce the system performance for uncoded QPSK modulation.

Machine Learning (ML) is an important component of computer science and a mainstream way of making sense of large amounts of data. Although the technology is establishing new possibilities in different fields, there are also problems to consider, one of which is bias. Due to the inductive reasoning of ML algorithms in creating mathematical models, the predictions and trends found by the models will never necessarily be true – just more or less probable. Knowing this, it is unreasonable for us to expect the applied deductive reasoning of these models to ever be fully unbiased. Therefore, it is important that we set expectations for ML that account for the limitations of reality. The current conversation of ML regards how and when to implement the technology to mitigate the effect of bias on its results. This thesis suggests that the question of “whether” should be addressed first. We tackle the issue of bias from the standpoint of justice and fairness in ML, developing a framework tasked with determining whether the implementation of a specific ML model is warranted. We accomplish this by emphasizing the liberal values that drive our definitions of societal fairness and justice, such as the separateness of persons, moral evaluation, freedom and understanding of choice, and accountability for wrongdoings
