In spite of recent studies discussing its myriad definitions, the asexual orientation has rarely been discussed in regards to its representation within television programming, being regarded as a “relatively uncharted area of sexual variability”. Despite the common definition of asexuality as “a lack of sexual attraction”, the orientation has arguably received little accurate portrayal within televisual fiction, where as a consequence, its few representations could perceivably be viewed as enforcing imprecise or negative stereotypes. One of the most impactful means by which negative depictions of the asexual identity is potentially spread is through the genre of television comedy, given the perception of “humour as forces of conservatism” that can support the “preservation of the status quo”; in this case being the ideals of “heteronormativity”, which “presumes heterosexuality to be natural”.

This dissertation proposes to investigate representations of asexuality within television comedy, analysing how the term as a “sexual orientation, just like heterosexuality, homosexuality, or bisexuality” can be read and interpreted within a selection of case studies made up of examples of television sitcoms. By analysing how asexuality is discussed within media texts, the representations can then be likened to how other queer identities have been historically presented and stereotyped within television, as well as investigate how asexuality’s associated behavioural traits are central to the construction of humour within sitcom.

O Direito encontra-se em franco processo de evolução, mutação e modificação. Emerge como produto do contexto social em que se encontra inserido e sofre as influências dos aspectos produzidos pela coletividade. Assim, a proposta da obra é abordar, em um segundo volume, temas contemporâneos e emergentes na sociedade pós-moderna e seus impactos para o (re)pensar do Direito.

Resumo
O presente trabalho tem por objetivo analisar o potencial comunicacional contra-hegemônico desenvolvido no canal “Tempero Drag”, produzido pela drag queen Rita Von Hunty. A pesquisa parte de uma análise de três vídeos do canal, percebendo aspectos da linguagem, formato e informação, em diálogo com os fundamentos teóricos de cultura do consumo, infotenimento, mobilizações na web, ativismo LGBT e comunicação alternativa. Logo, foi possível visualizar como o conteúdo extrapola o caráter de entretenimento ao mesclar gêneros informacionais e discutir assuntos sob uma ótica informativa e educativa, tencionando questões políticas para o público, com um potencial expansivo crescente, podendo caracterizar-se ainda enquanto uma prática jornalística alternativa, portanto, contra-hegemônica.

ABSTRACT

This paper aims to analyze the counter-hegemonic communication potential developed in the channel “Tempero Drag”, produced by the drag queen Rita Von Hunty. The research starts from an analysis of three videos, understanding aspects of language, format and information, in dialogue with the theoretical foundations of consumer culture, entertainment, web mobilization, LGBT activism and alternative communication. Thus, it was possible to visualize how the content goes beyond the entertainment character by merging informational genres and discussing subjects from an informative and educational point of view, intending political questions for the public, with a growing expansive potential, and can be characterized as an alternative journalistic practice, therefore, counter-hegemonic.

RESUMEN

Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el potencial de comunicación contrahegemónica desarrollado en el canal "Tempero Drag", producido por la drag queen Rita Von Hunty. La investigación parte de un análisis de videos de tres canales, que comprende aspectos del lenguaje, formato e información, en diálogo con los fundamentos teóricos de la cultura del consumidor, el entretenimiento, la movilización web, el activismo LGBT y la comunicación alternativa. Por lo tanto, fue posible visualizar cómo el contenido va más allá del carácter del entretenimiento al fusionar géneros informativos y discutir temas desde un punto de vista informativo y educativo, con la intención de formular preguntas políticas para el público, con un potencial expansivo creciente, y aún puede caracterizarse como una práctica periodística alternativa, por lo tanto, contrahegemónico.

This work problematizes and objective to develop the difficulties faced by the
LGBTQIA+ community, aiming at detailing and emphasizing mainly the issue of
inaccessibility to basic rights, prejudice, and daily security. The methodology of
thematic discussions that permeate such questions will then be addressed, since the
diverse LGBTQIA+ community has the emblem, first, of respect and love for others,
regardless of their social status, gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, etc. It is a
movement that embraces countless minorities and those who fight together for equal
rights in society. Even in a modern world, technologically speaking, there are still
those intolerants who do not consider the slightest respect for others who are outside
social standards, the so-called conservatism and heterosexual group; ways that are
dictatorially said to be correct. Not generalizing, but already stating, one of the
reasons responsible for the lack of accessibility to theoretical protections, but scarce
in practice, is the belief that the "abnormal", the one who does not fit into society's
normalized means, is not a human being, thus making access to basic rights difficult
and unfeasible, making the foundation of the 1988 Brazilian Constitution, the
principle of human dignity, unavailable. This material aims and aims to inform the
main points of growth after the initial struggle in defense of social inclusion and
liberation of the being that enters this colorful valley.

O objetivo deste artigo é observar qual o posicionamento predominante de pessoas que se aproximam, a partir de seus discursos, da cis-heteronormatividade e das concepções de religiões cristãs frente à diversidade sexual e de gênero no território brasileiro. Utilizou-se vídeos públicos disponíveis no YouTube e a análise foi orientada por Análise do Discurso. As discussões foram feitas a partir das categorias: a. a cisheteronormatividade: regulação de saberes e práticas; b. religiões cristãs: presença na mídia e na política; e c. LGBTQIAfobia e subjetividades dissidentes. Considerou-se que as características exclusivamente biológicas ainda conseguem definir e determinar os modos de existências das pessoas, desconsiderando o gênero, por exemplo, como uma construção social.

E-health and telehealth are rapidly evolving areas of intervention that may show high potential for use with LGBTQIA+ individuals. Research on the therapeutic utility of these with respect to mental health is limited, particularly in India. SAAHAS (Sexuality, Acceptance, Awareness, Health, and Support) is a queer-affirmative, cognitive behavior therapy-based group therapy model of intervention for LGBTQIA+ individuals. We describe here our facilitator experience with expanding the offline group therapy model to online platforms using Google Meet, with an analysis of attendance and modalities of engagement and a description of our therapy notes and themes of discussion. We describe facilitator experience of continued therapeutic support through WhatsApp by analyzing the chats and thematic coding of the same. We also describe here our attempt at using social media for community mental health outreach through dissemination of mental health messages on Instagram and Facebook; data was analyzed using engagement metrics. Observations of the utility and limitations of these video conferencing and social media platforms and suggestions for effective use are provided.

A presente dissertação visa analisar a atuação da Suprema Corte brasileira no reconhecimento de direitos da comunidade LGBTQIA+ diante da omissão inconstitucional do Poder Legislativo. Para o desenvolvimento desta dissertação, na fase de investigação, utilizou-se do método hipotético-dedutivo com abordagem qualitativa. Quanto as técnicas de procedimento, estas foram a bibliográfica e documental, com utilização de embasamentos teóricos para explicar as circunstâncias levantadas. Desta forma, a presente pesquisa foi desenvolvida na linha de pesquisa Jurisdição Constitucional e Democracia. Para tanto, o primeiro capítulo trata da história da homoafetividade e também apresenta as minorias sexuais como titulares de direitos fundamentais protegidas pela Constituição da República Federativa do Brasil promulgada em 1988. Por conseguinte, disserta-se sobre a ausência de uma cultura constitucional no Brasil como óbice da efetivação da dignidade da pessoa humana aos LGBTQIA+. O segundo capítulo versa sobre a jurisdição constitucional como via subsidiária para o reconhecimento de direitos da comunidade LGBTQIA+, à luz do constitucionalismo democrático. Nesse sentido, o último capítulo elenca a dignidade da pessoa humana como princípio constitucional de proteção das minorias sexuais, com uma análise das decisões proferidas pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal em que se reconheceram direitos e repararam equívocos normativos discriminatórios que violavam a dignidade da pessoa humana dos LGBTQIA+. Conclui-se que os direitos LGBTQIA+ reconhecidos pelo Poder Judiciário brasileiro fortalecem o Estado Democrático de Direito e não afrontam a Constituição da República Federativa do Brasil promulgada em 1988, uma vez que as interpretações exaradas pelo Supremo Tribunal Federal foram proferidas pelos próprios meios constitucionais vigentes, e em nome do princípio da dignidade da pessoa humana. Por esse motivo, ressalta-se que, a judicialização desses temas, não visa substituir a via legislativa, mas sim funcionar como um instrumento de proteção à dignidade da pessoa humana das minorias sexuais, enquanto estas permanecem invisíveis pela maioria dos parlamentares brasileiros.
