its independence, decided to make agriculture the
spearhead of its economy. Thus, it based its economy
on export crops, notably cocoa in the forest area, in
fact in the Kouibly sub-prefecture. The evaluation of
socio-economic changes linked to the dynamics of
cocoa farming in the Kouibly sub-prefecture prompted
this study. The objective of this article is to assess the
socio-economic impact of the dynamics of cocoa
farming in the sub-prefecture of Kouibly. To achieve
this objective, we have adopted a methodological
approach. It consisted of doing documentary research,
observation in the field. The data collected in the field
has undergone manual, digital and cartographic
processing. This study reveals that the dynamics of
cocoa farming actively participate in the socioeconomic development of the Kouibly sub-prefecture.
However, the economic situation of the majority of
cocoa farmer’s remains mixed. Indeed, many cocoa
producers still experience enormous difficulties in meeting their needs. However, with the development of
cocoa farming, the hope of seeing farmers’ daily lives
improves remains possible.
