AbstrakPenelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh perhatian orangtua terhadap motivasibelajar siswa. Dengan demikian, dalam tulisan ini penulis menggunakan teknik penelitian. Untukmencapai tujuan tersebut peneliti menggunakan pendekatan kuantitatif dengan rancangan penelitiansurvey. Ada dua rumusan masalah yang menuntun pelaksanaan penelitian ini, yaitu: Apakahperhatian orang tua berpengaruh secara positif terhadap motivasi belajar siswa? Data penelitiandiperoleh peneliti melalui cara, yaitu: digunakan metode penelitian dalam bentuk pengumpulandata. Metode pengumpulan data adalah pertanyaan dengan cara apa dan bagaimana data yangdiperlukan dapat dikumpulkan dan hasil akhir penelitian digunakan dalam metode tersusun secarasistematis dan logis.

Worldwide research is going on to judge the emotional state of a speaker just from the quality of human voice. This paper explores use of supervised neural network to design a classifier that can discriminate between several emotions like happiness, anger, fear, sadness & unemotional state in speech. The results found to be are significant, both in cognitive science and in speech technology. In the current paper, statistics of the pitch like, first and second formants, and Energy and speaking rate are used as relevant features. Different neural network based recognizers are created. Ensembles of such recognizers are used as an important part of decision support system for prioritizing voice messages and assigning a proper agent to response the message. The developed intelligent system can be enhanced to automatically predict and adapt to detect people’s emotional states and also to design emotional robot or computer system.

Wavelet transforms have proved to be very powerful tools for image compression, since many state-of-the-art image codecs employ DWT into their algorithms. One advantage of this transform is the provision of both frequency and spatial localization of image energy compacted into a small fraction of the transform coefficients, equally likely to be positive or negative. Previous studies have verified that there is a strong correlation between the sign of a wavelet coefficient and the signs of their neighbors. This correlation opens the possibility of using a sign predictor in order to improve the image compression process. In this work we evaluate two algorithms, one based on Genetic programming and other based on Simulated Annealing process in order to obtain a good wavelet sign predictor.

Designing a reconfigurable manufacturing robotic workcell is a complex and resource demanding procedure. In this work a multi criteria index is introduced, allowing the designer to evaluate the various anatomies achieved by a reconfigurable manipulator, and to define the area in the manipulator’s configuration space where a task can be accomplished with good performance under the selected performance measure. An adaptive neuro-fuzzy inference system is trained, in order to rapidly produce the index value for arbitrary anatomies achieved by the manipulator. The system is tested using a case study reconfigurable manipulator, and the derived results determined by the system after its training are presented and compared to the actual index value for calculated for the relevant anatomy.

Exploratory Learning Environments (ELEs) allow learners to approach a problem in different ways; they are particularly suitable for ill-defined problems where knowledge is less structured and open-ended exploration is allowed. Moreover, multiple solutions which are equally valid are possible and a common and efficient way to convey this is by promoting and supporting students’ collaboration. Successful collaboration, however, depends on forming groups in which the activity is relevant for all members of the group. In this paper we present a computational model for group formation for open-ended exploration in ELEs by modelling the various strategies that learners adopt to solve the same task. This is underpinned by Group Technology techniques that use as criteria the learners’ strategies and the similarity among them to form groups that match pedagogy considerations. The proposed mechanism is tested in an exploratory learning environment for mathematical generalisation.

Mortality rate by the brain tumor was very high some years before. But now this rate is decreased in the recent years due to the earlier diagnosis and proper treatment. Chances of the long survival of the patient can be increased by the accurate brain tumor diagnosis. For this regard we are proposing more accurate and efficient system for brain tumor diagnosis and brain tumor region extraction. Proposed system first diagnosis the tumor from the brain MR images using naïve bayes classification. After diagnosis brain tumor region is extracted using K-means clustering and boundary detection techniques. We are achieving diagnosis accuracy more than 99%. Qualitative results show that accurate tumor region is extracted by the proposed system. The proposed technique is tested against the datasets of different patients received from Holy Family hospital and Abrar MRI&CT Scan center Rawalpindi.

Discursive reasoning is based on the nature of our ordinary discourse. Namely, several participants exist and have some information, beliefs, and others. Then, truth is formalized by means of the sum of opinions supplied by participants in discursive reasoning. Even if each participant has consistent information, some participant could be inconsistent with other participants. We propose a constructive discursive logic with strong negation CDLSN based on Nelson's constructive logic N- as a refinement of Jaskowski's discursive logic. We give an axiomatic system and Kripke semantics with a completeness proof. We also discuss some applications in decision making.
