Animal traction take on particular importance in the Moroccan‘s agricultural sector. Sure enough, being an agricultural country, draft animals are used in the majority of small farms (less than 5 hectares) which represent 70% of farms in Morocco .Further, the amelioration of the conditions of animal traction will contribute the augmentation of the agricultural production and improving the living standards of many rural. This present work establish an assessment of the actual situation of animal traction in Morocco, its characteristics, its yearly costs, and particularly its contribution in the national energetic assessment. For this reason, a systematic investigation into a sample of farmers and other actors in various Moroccan regions was realized, and has affected 87 farms. The study was performed on a staff of 157 draft horses in 8 regions. Various parameters were specified, including the number of draft horses on the farm, the characteristics of agricultural work done by these animals, the cost of their food and their annual maintenance costs.
It follows from this study that a large percentage of the studied drought horses (around 55%) is located in the farms of less than 8 hectares, and most of these draft animals are much used in the types of predominantly cereal farms, followed by farms with vegetable predominance. Moreover, draft animals are used for the transport of goods and people in 50% of days worked per year. However, the ground work is only less than 20% of the annual working time. Moreover, feeding these animals is highly dependent on the type of traction performed, and varies seasonally. The energy provided by the work of the draft animals corresponds to the energy provided by 16 200 tractors and represents 4.5% of the energy consumed in agriculture, which equivalent in total to nearly 20% of traction energy consumed annually by agriculture. Indeed, the work energy for the totality of draft animals yearly provides is estimated at around 535.8 Million kWh / year, equivalent to almost 500 million Dhs (2016). 46% of this energy (around 217. 9 Million kWh) is provided by the mules population, compared to 41% provided by the donkey population (nearly 249.3 Million kWh) and 13% provided by the horse population (nearly 68. 6 Million kWh).

Today, half of the Netherlands is situated below sea level. Because of this, water-management is of key importance when it comes to maintaining present-day habitation of the Dutch low-lands. In prehistory, however, large parts of the Dutch landscape were highly dynamic due to ongoing fluvial sedimentation. Vast deltaic areas with ceaseless river activity formed the backdrop against which prehistoric occupation took place. Although such landscapes may seem inhospitable, the often excellently preserved archaeological evidence indicates that people lived in these lowlands throughout prehistory.

This book describes why Bronze Age farmers were keen to settle here and how these prehistoric communities structured the landscape around their house-sites at various scales. Using a vast body of evidence from several large-scale excavations in the Dutch river area, the author, reconstructs the changes in the cultural landscape over time. Starting from the Middle Neolithic, changing preferences for settlement site locations and changes in domestic architecture are traced in detail to the Iron Age. However, for proper understanding of the cultural landscape, not only settlements but also graves and patterns of object deposition – and their landscape characteristics – are discussed.

By using evidence of over 50 major excavations, yielding over 300 house plans, this book contains by far the richest data-set on Dutch Bronze Age settlements. Most of these results were not before published in English, making this book of over 500 pages a true academic treasure for an international audience.

The in-depth presentation of Bronze Age settlement sites, as well as the critical discussion of models and premises current in later prehistoric settlement archaeology, have an important relevance stretching beyond the Dutch lowland areas on which it is based. The wealth of high-quality Dutch data is presented as a synthesized (yet well-annotated) narrative, that rises above mere site interpretation, even more so due to its landscape-scale focus. Therefore this book is a must-have for those interested in later prehistoric cultural landscapes and settlement archaeology.

In this study, a series of modules is integrated into a wave-to-wire (W2W) model that links a Boundary Element Method (BEM) solver to a Wave Energy Converter (WEC) motion solver which are in turn coupled to a wave propagation model. The hydrodynamics of the WECs are resolved in the wave structure interaction solver NEMOH, the Power Take-off (PTO) is simulated in the WEC simulation tool WEC-Sim, and the resulting perturbed wave field is coupled to the mild-slope propagation model MILDwave. The W2W model is run for verified for a realistic wave energy project consisting of a WEC farm composed of 10 5-WEC arrays of Oscillating Surging Wave Energy Converters (OSWECs). Рассмотрено взаимодействие городских органов самоуправления, губернских администраций сибирских губерний и Особого совещания по продовольствию летом 1915 - начале 1917 гг., реконструирован механизм запроса кредитов на продовольственное снабжение населения, его выдачи, порядка расходования и возврата. Созданный механизм способствовал смягчению продовольственных проблем в городах и косвенно стимулировал сельскохозяйственное производство, но к осени 1916 г. потерял эффективность и был заменен на прямое выделение продовольствия из фонда государственных заготовок.

  The author researches interaction of city autonomous bodies, governorate authorities of Siberian provinces and special council on food supply in summer 1915 - beginning of 1917. The mechanism of credits request for food supply of population, its granting, disbursement and repayment is reconstructed. The mechanism enabled to defuse the food problems in cities and stimulated agricultural industry by indirection. By the autumn of 1916 it lost effectiveness and was changed to direct distribution of food from the state procurement fund.

Over recent years, there have been significant changes in rural land use and in the composition of rural communities. A wealth of evidence shows that the traditional economic and employment impacts of agriculture and forestry are in decline and that other land uses, such as recreation, nature conservation and equine businesses, are increasing in terms of land area, employment and socio-economic significance.
