This guide is meant to help anyone at Yale, and particularly historians, quickly get started using EndNote Citation Management Software. It is not meant to be comprehensive, but does provide a number of approaches not found in other guides. The guide is geared towards users implementing EndNote in Microsoft Windows and writing using Microsoft Word, but many tips carry across systems

As a result of repeated mistakes in bibliographic references, scientists are interested in reference managers. Currently, there are only few studies which concentrate on the quality evaluation of the bibliographic references generated by these applications. In this research, bibliographic references of online and printed articles, books, contributions to books and web resources generated from the Citace PRO, EndNote, Mendeley, RefWorks and Zotero reference managers with briefly made references according to the citation styles ACS, APA, ASA, ČSN ISO 690, JAMA, MLA and NLM were compared. During the comparison, it was found that no reference manager is able to generate all references in the correct way. The best results were detected in Mendeley which had the total fewest number of mistakes and the fewest number of mistakes for 3 citation styles and in Zotero which had the second total least number of mistakes and the total fewest number of mistakes for 4 citation styles. On the other hand, Citace PRO revealed the most mistakes for 5 citations style, EndNote for 2 citation styles and RefWorks for 1 citation style. All reference managers had problems with generating various data in bibliographic references. It was found that several mistakes were caused by the technical restrictions of the reference managers while other mistakes were caused by the wrong setting of the citation formats. With respect to similar functions of the tested reference managers and the number of mistakes in generated references, Zotero and Mendeley proved to be the most suitable managers.

This paper aimed to comparative analysis of two search databases, namely-Springer Link and Google Scholar uses EndNote reference management software to import fields. This aim is achieved based on experiment and it showed that EndNote import more fields from Springer Link. However, this finding could help to know researchers in order to use the search databases and reference management software for their research.

Reference Management tools offer an easy way of finding relevant literature, collecting references, organizing them in a database, and insert citations works in a manuscript with proper citation style. Most of the new Reference Management tools provide facility to connect with other researchers that you can’t find on other platforms. An online reference management tools provide easier collaboration and use across multiple devices and assist you to improve publication visibility and impact.

The Bibliography consists of three parts. The last of which is a word index containing those words whose etymology was discussed in 1994-1995. This is preceded by a two-part list of literature. In Part B solutions to the abbreviations used in the index are given. In Part A, however, those bibliographical items are located which are not entered into the index (chiefly monographs and largere articles, particularly those containing their own index or glossary), as well as studies devoted to one word (mentioned in their titles) or a semantic group.

The blended model for information literacy instruction described in this article introduces students not only to efficient techniques for finding scientific literature and properties of chemical compounds, but also to managing this information with a bibliographic management program (EndNote Online). The model blends face-to-face instruction with online tutorials posted on a LibGuide page prepared for each course. A graded online assignment designed in SurveyMonkey was used to assess student learning. During the instruction, students learned to find literature in Google Scholar, PubMed, Scopus, SciFinder, and Web of Science. They also searched for properties of chemical compounds in ChemSpider, PubChem, Reaxys, and SciFinder using a chemical name, molecular formula, CAS Registry Number, or by drawing a molecular structure. The results from the assignments showed that students learned how to find literature and chemical property information efficiently and use a bibliographic management program to store, organize, share, and cite references. This article presents the implementation of the model in two small (40−60 students) and one large (380− 460 students) undergraduate chemistry courses. The information literacy instruction described in this article was carried out in more than 20 undergraduate and graduate courses at the University of Maryland College Park. It provided more than 5000 students with versatile skills that they can use throughout their college education and even later in their professional life. The design of the model and its implementation was a result of a close collaboration between the chemistry librarian and the course instructors. ■ INTRODUCTION With science becoming more interdisciplinary and complex and the volume of publications growing so quickly, it is becoming increasingly difficult for students and researchers to find and manage scientific information efficiently. Management of scientific information includes how students and researchers perform a search, narrow down results, export references to a bibliographic management program, and insert citations in a Word document. Teaching students how to find chemical information and manage scientific literature more efficiently could help them use such transferable skills not only in a particular course but throughout their college education and later in their professional life. 1 Information literacy instruction has been a major responsibility of chemistry librarians for decades and many articles describe how such programs were introduced in the chemistry curriculum. 2−8 Two recent books, "Chemical Information for Chemists: A Primer" 9 and "The Future of the History of Chemical Information" 10 include chapters written by experts in chemical information who share their vision of the field and its future. They also provide practical information, which can be very useful to anyone who teaches chemical information or wants to learn more about the chemistry resources. A new book, "Managing Scientific Information and Research Data," 11 by one of the authors of this article looks at science information literacy from a broader perspective and in the context of the new technologies and the higher expectations from education. It discusses the new roles that academic librarians could play in supporting education and research in their institutions and how the new areas of eScience, data literacy, data management, and Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELNs) can become essential elements of information literacy instruction in the future. Students are often uncertain which resources they should use to find scientific information. During the instruction, students should be provided with information and comparisons of the resources 12−14 covered in class, so that they can choose the most suitable one. The last two decades have seen an increasing demand for not only quality research but also for publishing at a prolific rate. Accordingly, anything that helps academics write better or more quickly is very important. As a result of the pressure to " publish or perish, " there are more scholarly articles being published today than ever before. It is almost impossible for scholars to keep abreast of the growing bodies of literature, never mind keep track of all the papers. Indeed, nearly 2.5 million peer-reviewed articles were published in 2014 alone! The process of compiling the dozens of relevant articles and then manually listing and formatting their references for a journal article can consume precious time that today's academics simply do not have. To add insult to injury, when an article is rejected from a particular publication, authors often need to completely reformat their references before submitting their manuscripts to new journals. In today's hectic academic world, this work constitutes a tremendous waste of time and resources.

30 minute Zotero talk presented at EduTech Day 2012 at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York City on March 16, 2012. Slides were followed by demonstration of installing Zotero, collecting various types of resources, citing references in Microsoft Word, and generating a bibliography two different ways.

Abstract
Teaching information literacy is a major responsibility for subject/liaison librarians, but advances in information-retrieval systems, such as improved natural language searching and Semantic Web, could significantly change the role librarians play in this area. This chapter examines the future of information literacy and how librarians could redefine their role by expanding it to include management of scientific information and research data, different instruction formats, and new approaches for assessing student learning. This will make library instruction a much more appealing, engaging, and useful experience for students and researchers. Responding to the needs of a generation born into a digital culture will require that librarians learn new skills and play new roles in supporting the educational and research goals of their institutions be redefined.
