Domain Specific Modelling Languages

A strategy for adaptive control and energetic optimization of aerobic fermentors was implemented, with both air flow and agitation speed as manipulated variables. This strategy is separable in its components: control, optimization, estimation. We optimized parameter’s estimation (from the usual KLa correlation) using sinusoidal excitation of air flow and agitation speed. We have implemented parameter’s estimation trough recursive least squares algorithm with forgetting factor. We carried separate essays on control, optimization and estimation algorithms. We carried our essays using an original computational simulation environment, with noise and delay generating facilities for data sampling and filtering.

Our results show the convergence and robustness of the estimation algorithm used, improved with use of both forgetting factor and KLa dead-band facilities. Control algorithm used in our work compares favorably with PID using the integrated area criteria for deviation between oxygen molarity and critical molarity (set point). Optimization algorithm clearly reduces energetic consumption, respecting critical molarity. Integration of control, optimization and adaptive algorithms was implemented, but future work is needed for stability. Methods were defined and implemented for stability improvement. We have implemented data acquisition and computer manipulation of air flow and agitation speed for actual fermentors.

Visual representation and organization of the knowledge have been utilized in different ways in tutoring systems to upgrade their usefulness. This paper concentrates on the usage of various graphical formalisms, for example, the conceptual graph, ontology, and concept map in tutoring systems. The paper addresses what is way of the utilization of every formalism and the offering of the potential outcomes to assist the student in education systems.

Presented in this paper is a simplification platform for engineering design that redirects designers from the conventional form of vector geometry. Using programming features it will promote automatic interchange of parametric data used in the creation of graphic models and those used in the design analysis of the models in order to accomplish specific design tasks. The entire process of creating a final graphics model which is termed graphics design and which results in a graphics model will involve the aggregation of the graphics primitives, graphics assemblies and subassemblies to form the model. As a result an integrated domain of language constructs capable of enhancing the automatic data manipulation evolves. This integrated domain, which is actually an enhanced design modeling framework, will free the designer of being constrained by a limiting set of tools. INTRODUCTION Computer Aided Design systems [1] , provide tools for building good designs that conforms to solid objects that depicts the creation of a set of drawings for the production of a model. Models are simplification of operations or systems that targets particular circumstances, and that is the more reason graphics models produced from CAD systems are used for modeling. Graphics models usually are created interactively from graphics primitives and can be assembled to more complex forms known as graphics assemblies [1, 4]. CAD systems do provide assemblies whose dimensions are functions of key parametric values produced by the user, as they are utilized by designers for graphics design modeling. But one key consideration is that common interactive CAD systems (e.g. AutoCAD) lack programmable parameters, which could enable the automatic interchange of data between related modules such as design analysis routines, graphical modeling parameters and schedules [3, 4] .There is a sharp distinction, therefore, between building models, a concrete graphical editing activity, and programming, an abstract, textual, algorithm-construction activity [8]. The focus of this paper is the integration of both the graphics design and the graphics design analysis attributes in a conventional homogeneous programming platform. This can then enable usability with a viable CAD API that can solve a general workflow problem by providing a means for creating clearly refined graphics models that targets particular application areas for solutions

Domain-specific languages (DSLs) play a crucial role in resolving internal dependencies across enterprises and boosts their upfront business management processes. Yet, a lot of development is needed to build modelling frameworks which support graphical interfaces (canvas, pallettes etc.), hierarchical structures and easy implementation to shorten the gap for novice users. In this paper, a DSL namely, Bmod is introduced, which can be used to model evacuation scenarios. The language is built using Eclipse Modelling Framework (EMF) and Eclipse Graphical Modelling Framework (GMF). Furthermore, a comparison is also shown between Eclipse EMF/GMF and other modelling tools such as AToMPM, metaDepth, Sirius etc with respect to expressiveness, learning curve and performance.

The use of social networks is still confined to infrastructure-based networks such as the Internet. However, many situations (conferences, fairs, etc.) may require the implementation and rapid deployment of an ad-hoc application for disseminating information: we call this type of application, Ad-hoc Social Network. These applications are necessarily distributed, deployable on mobile units, etc. They therefore inevitably share the same characteristics as those inherent in ad-hoc mobile networks and make them good candidates for their deployment. In this paper, by using techniques from the field of generative programming, we propose an approach to produce environments for generating such applications from their specifications in a domain-specific language. By applying this approach, we have developed SMGenerator, an environment for generating mobile ad-hoc social network applications for Android devices. Moreover by using SMGenerator, we easily generated the ConfInfo application: an ad-hoc social network application for disseminating information to participants in a scientific manifestation.

The Feature model is a typical approach to capture variability in a software product line design and implementation. For that, most works automate feature model using a limited graphical notation represented by propositional logic and implemented by Prolog or Java programming languages. These works do not properly combine the extensions of classical feature models and do not provide scalability to implement large size problem issues. In this work, we propose a textual feature modeling language based on Python programming language (PyFML), that generalizes the classical feature models with instance feature cardinalities and attributes which be extended with highlight of replication and complex logical and mathematical cross-tree constraints. textX Metalanguage is used for building PyFML to describe and organize feature model dependencies, and PyConstraint Problem Solver is used to implement feature model variability and its constraints validation. The work provides a textual human-readable language to represent feature model and maps the feature model descriptions directly into the object-oriented representation to be used by Constraint Problem Solver for computation. Furthermore, the proposed PyFML makes the notation of feature modeling more expressive to deal with complex software product line representations and using PyConstraint Problem Solver.

Development of software agents according to Belief-Desire-Intention (BDI) model usually becomes challenging due to autonomy, distributedness and openness of multi-agent systems (MAS). Hence, in this paper, a domain-specific modeling language (DSML), called DSML4BDI, is introduced to support development of BDI agents. The syntax of the language provides the design of agent components required for the construction of the system according to the specifications of BDI architecture. The implementation of designed MAS on Jason BDI platform is also possible via model-to-text transformations built in the DSML. The comparative evaluation results showed that a significant amount of artifacts required for the exact MAS implementation can be automatically achieved by employing DSML4BDI. Moreover, time needed for developing a BDI agent system from scratch can be reduced to one-third in case of using DSML4BDI. Finally, qualitative assessment, based on the developers' feedback, exposed how DSML4BDI facilitates development of BDI agents.
