Braila

Η εργασία αναφέρεται  στα ταφικά μνημεία στο κοιμητήριο του Αγίου Κωνσταντίνου στη Βραΐλα, παραδουνάβιο λιμάνι, όπου άνθισε μια από τις μεγαλύτερες ελληνικές κοινότητες της Ρουμανίας κατά το 19ο και το πρώτο μισό του 20ού αιώνα. Τα μνημεία αυτά προσφέρουν πολλά στοιχεία για τη ζωή και τη δράση των ανθρώπων αυτών, με βάση τις επιγραφές και τις εικονιστικές μαρτυρίες. Αποτελούν επίσης ενδιαφέρουσες καλλιτεχνικές μαρτυρίες για το έργο Τηνιακών μαρμαρογλυπτών που έζησαν και εργάστηκαν στη Ρουμανία.
The paper refers to the funerary monuments in the cemetery of St. Constantine in Braila, a Danube port, where one of the largest Greek communities in Roman flourished in  the 19th and first half of the 20th century. These monuments offer a lot of information about the lives and actions of these people, based on the inscriptions and pictorial testimonies. They are also interesting artistic testimonies of the work of  marble sculptors from the island of Tinos in the Cyclades who lived and worked in Romania.

This paper approaches and discusses to the right of visually impaired and situation. Artificial intelligence helps to improve the teaching-learning processes of science for visually impaired. The ways of AI describes understanding the advantages for science classroom for Physics, biology and chemistry. Further, describe the recently develops artificial intelligence technique that is touch vision for Braille system users and others. This system uses (app detects the user’s index finger location and different gestures performed by the user and renders audio information) and the seeing-AI fee of cost application software for image processing, text recognition from images from printed on paper, metals & non-metals and digital objects, deep learning, voice output, and voice recognition are performed through computer and phones for the visually impaired learner. A further area of research in science education through artificial Intelligence needs to be conducted is given. Suggestions put forth to make artificial intelligence more implementable and usable in science classroom.

Pe lângă demersul istoriografic, lucrarea oferă o perspectivă holistă asupra dezvoltării preocupării misionare pentru evrei în rândul protestanților și evanghelicilor, cât și asupra evoluției acesteia până în ziua de azi.

This article presents how different professions have evolved over the last 135 years of activity undertaken at "Panait Istrati" library. We can identify three fundamental time frames during which the public library has continuously redefined itself in relation to the specific of the periods and the requirements of Brăila County. Although initially it was enough for one single librarian to manage the entire collection of books, nowadays, the library has professionals in diverse fields of activity, and it seems that this is the paradigm that most of the libraries will follow. This is the reason why human resources management becomes more and more important and why it should be professionally performed, in order to obtain the best performances.

Georgios Bonanos (Kefalonia 1863-Athens 1940), one of the most important Greek sculptors, after his studies in Athens and in Rome, had established his workshop in Athens. His works are located in many cities in Greece, but also in Cyprus, Istanbul, Egypt and Romania. This paper presents a work of him, the bust of Iulian Vrabiescu  in the Bellu Cemetery in Bucharest, the only surviving work of Bonanos in Romania, according to our researches. The bust of Iulian Vrabiescu (died 6.7.1891),  rendered in realistic style, is signed in the back by the sculptor [Γ. ΜΠΟΝΑΝΟΣ/ΕΠΟΙΕΙ (G. Bonanos made)]. Based on the year of Iulian Vrabiescu's death, the bust must have been made after 1891. The deceased was  a rich landowner and senator, representative  of the prefecture of Ialomitsa. His daughter Olga, from his first marriage, was married to the Romanian politician Anastase Stolojan. He was also related to the politician Iulian C. Vrabiescu from Craiova (1862-1940). The bust is erected on a stele signed by the  marble sculptor Nicolaos Halepas (1855 - 1932),  [N. HALEPAS/ FAC. / BUCURESTI (N. Halepas Made Bucharest)], younger brother of the most renowned  Greek sculptor, Yannoulis Halepas. In the same tomb are buried, according to the inscriptions:  Alexandrina I. Vrabiescu  (died 8.2.1928), Iulian’s  second wife, born Gh. Papadopol - apparently of Greek descent; their son Romulus Vrabiescu, artist- professor (1884-1951), acclaimed tenor and professor at the Academy of Music in Bucharest, his wife Livia Vrabiescu, born Vratianu (1895 - 1982), a famous soprano, also a professor at the Academy of Music; Teodor Vrabiescu, engineer (1907- 1996) and Elvira Vrabiescu, doctor of chemistry (1914-2000). The commission  of the bust of Iulian Vrabiescu, a prominent member of Romanian society, to Georgios Bonanos is indicative of the fame he enjoyed.This work should be placed in the context of the spread of  Greek sculpture in the second half of the 19th century - early 20th century in the Balkans, southern Russia, Asia Minor and the Middle East.

The Public Library from Brăila is an institution with more than 135 years of tradition. Established in August 1881 by Royal Decree, it grew year by year by keeping pace with the times, without changing the respect it always had for public reading and books.
