Bioarcheaology

El presente informe es realizado frente a la solicitud de restitución de restos humanos de origen qom efectuado por la Fundación Napalpí. Toma como base la información presentada en el Catálogo de la Sección Antropológica del Museo de La Plata (Lehmann-Nitsche 1910) que es al mismo tiempo la fuente utilizada en la solicitud de restitución. Se complementa con el análisis de fuentes adicionales que mencionan algunos nombres, sitios y fechas, tales como los informes de las campañas estatales, y con el análisis bioantropológico de los restos esqueletarios. Esto permitió evaluar la correspondencia entre la información consignada en el Catálogo y los indicadores que pueden leerse en los restos óseos; asimismo, lograr una aproximación al contexto de interacción entre personas, donde se ponen en evidencia acciones de violencia y prácticas científicas.

New unwrapped Mummies have been discovered at Tell Tebilla which located in the East Delta, south of Dikirnis , 12 km. north of Mendes during excavation season 2014  .The Egyptian Archaeologists Team have discovered on the north east of Tell Tebilla  a rectangular Mud brick Mastaba that have been divided to three rooms every room contains Mummy in bad preservation as well as discovered other skeletal remains in the top of Mastaba .The Egyptian Team have been discovered four complete Mummies in situ and Human remains for another six individuals have been discovered during the same excavation  season in. the top phase of Excavation ,This poster focuses also on  the osteological analysis undertaken Egyptian Team for first time to assessment the age , sex and some pathologies which give us plenty of information  about the health , diet  and life style there. And solve problem about identity of these individuals .

The responsive nature of bone to internal programming by growth and sex hormones, as well as to functional pressures from outside of the body, provides a number of clues as to how to use bone to assess a wide variety of indicators of identity. Here an overview of the human skeleton as a sexually dimorphic biological tissue is provided. A summary of techniques used to estimate biological sex from human remains in both forensic and archaeological contexts is offered. Current issues in the fomentation of methods are discussed. Theoretical and methodological issues in the development and application of sex determination methods are reviewed. Finally, an overview of the ways in which skeletal sex estimation has been important to recent social science research is presented.
