moreAlthough BIM has been transforming the AEC industry worldwide, the quality of BIM education is still unclear. In an effort to investigate the current state of BIM integration into higher education curricula, the main goal of this study was to evaluate, compare, and reflect on students’ proficiency in BIM between two very distinct graduate courses in Brazil and in the United States. Findings suggest a critical lack of knowledge, either foundational (in the U.S.) or procedural knowledge (in Brazil). Finally, measures that could improve the students’ proficiency in BIM are suggested.
