NUCLEAR AUNTY KO BHAGAO Committee: United Nation Security Council Agenda: Nuclear Crisis in North Korea Signatory: Philippines, Russia, People Republic of China, Singapore, Japan, South Africa, Brazil, Iran Recognizing the hazard of implementing Nuclear Arms and Weaponry or WMD (Weapon of Mass Destruction) in the Korean Peninsula, Recognizing the binding nature of Security Council Resolutions, Importance of dialogue between affected states and coming to a consensus, Noting with deep concerns, the violation of Human Rights under the current regime and acting on it, Recognizing, the importance of presence of International Organizations in the state for overall benefit, Noting the significance of Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty and its importance, Ensure the effective participation of North Korea in peace talks The following elements must be implemented by Security Council to achieve a successful solution to the Nuclear Crisis in North Korea: Strongly recommends DPRK to follow Security Council Resolutions and hence rejoin NPT (Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty) accordingly; Stress the importance of Six-Party Talks between affected parties with unbiased mediator suggesting Russian Federation and People Republic of China; Requests the allowance of intervention of International Atomic Energy Association (IAEA) to monitor the Nuclear Facilities; Both NWs and NNWS realize the importance of not engaging in Nuclear Proliferation with appropriate balance between obligations of both parties; Asserts the importance of Nuclear Disarmament by taking appropriate measures and ensuring practical measures by inviting third parties like UN; Ensuring the establishment of NWFZ’s (Nuclear Weapon Free Zone) should not be curtailed by the treaty; Establishing 1994 Geneva Agreed Framework as binding treaty and work accordingly; Suggests for allowance of International NGO’s like Amnesty International and International Red Cross to work within country to provide humanitarian help; Working within USA-North Korea Agreed Framework based by KEDO (Korean Energy Development Organization) on operation of Nuclear Facilities and using Nuclear Technology for peaceful purpose; Stress the importance of peace talks and dialogue between the affected parties than sanctions ensued; Bearing in mind the Humanitarian crisis in NK and the scarceness in food resources, Russian Federation is ready to provide monetary support to DPRK wrt to Food Security, however strict measures are liable by Russian Government if misused in any manner.
